Forgive me for forgetting how to quote others correctly......
"If you are worried bout where
I've been or who I saw or
what club I went to with my homies
Baby don't worry
you know that you've got me."

You did a great job on the chorus and I must say that although Erykah sang it wonderfully, Jill Scott did a heck of a job writing it.

As far as "This Woman's Work" is concerned, the words are printed inside his "Now" album cover.

Ok, I just realized what part of the chorus was sayin the other day:
"She got her hands up on her knees and then her 'bows on her thighs."

Now, is that what they're sayin? Cuz if so, that's impossible. Try it. It looks and feels stupid. Ain't nobody in the club with they hands on they knees and they 'bows on they thighs. BOO! I still like the song, though, lol.

No, Ideal, strippers are in their clubs with their hands on their knees and their bows on their thighs. They got to make that money girl!!!! That entire song, along with Whistle While You Twerk, is about a stripper at a strip club. That's why the Ying Yang Twins always shout out the popular strip clubs in Atlanta. They say at the end "Magic City, let me see you I Yi Yi, Blue Flame, let me see you I Yi Yi." Those are both strip clubs in Atlanta.

			My Goodness,

I nearly died reading these posts... but that said, I must contribute.

Now, I am the QUEEN of purposely messing up lyrics and replacing them with ones I like better, one of my favorites is Michael Jackson's "Beat It"

"Beat it, just beat it.... ain't your momma orthopedic?"

I think the most recent song that jacked me up was Musiq's song "Mary" (I think that's what it's called). Anyway, it took me FOREVER to figure out what he was spelling! I went around just tossing out random letters like "M-A-B-T-H-O-W-E-A-E-B-E-Y-O-U-T-E..."

I finally placed it like 8 times in a row and realized he was spelling out "M-a-r-y, H-o-w c-o-u-l-d y-o-u b-e s-o c-r-u-e-l t-o m-e m-y l-o-v-e."

I was too through!

Ok don't laugh but I thought they were saying baby no more crying, I get so excited, you know I like it, I try but I can't find it. And then I ride in the car wondering WTF are they talking about, she is crying so wth is he trying to find?. That was until I listened closely.

Ok now, This Woman's work, what is the very first line Maxwell sings because I don't understand it for the life of me. This is what I say, I may have turned it into a church song but hey ain't nuffin wrong with that shoo..

One more song, I don't know whether this is regional or what but it's this reject rapper with a song called "My Neck, My Back." It's in the top 10 of worst songs of all times. Anyway she said
I walk in the club so mean
I got a unit of my face so clean

Now what in the hell is a unit?

Well, Paragon1922, I'm still LMAO at your version of "Beat It." Ooooohhh lawd child, I need to breathe!!! Musiq's song is actually called, "Mary Go Round" and that's one of my favorite unreleased songs by him, besides "Settle for my Love." If you look at the liner notes of his CD, the words to the song are there. And that part is just like you said, except he doesn't spell out the last word, "Love." He just says it.

My "stepson" is the KING of making up his own lyrics. He is seven and he CMTFU with them. My all time favorite -
(to the tune of Biggie's hypnotized)

Biggie, Biggie, Biggie can't you see,
You ate all my fries and drank my Pepsi!

Lawd, that child is funny.

Now Afrochic, I won't get started with that Maxwell song, which I loooove so much more on the MTV Unplugged CD than on Now. Maybe because of the way he sang it, yeah that's it. I can't figure out the words to that song for the life of me either, nor can I understand the significance of him swimming across the damn street!!! Now as far as the Southern female reject rapper is concerned, I heard that damn song when I went to Tuscaloosa, AL and I was completely repulsed by it!!!!! What ever happened to DISCRETION, especially in sexual relationships? Well, Lil' Kim started that chit, so I guess now that she's not doing anything, more hoodrat hoochie mamas gotta come out with their own "flavor." I also remember hearing a song by some guy talking about, "I Wanna F*** You in the @$$." Tell me why I wanted to gag so bad! Again, I was like, "Can you please exercise discretion?" I also noticed that in ALabama and Nawth Cackalacka, they play the "chocha" part of "Pass the Courvoisier" on the radio. I was like, "They play that part down here?" And my friends said, "Yeah, why?" I was like, "They don't play that part in NYC."

			Hey lil_sunshine,

See... I guess I was at a disadvantage, because I had a burned copy of Musiq's Cd, so I didn't get to see that he had it all spelled out! It is a great song, but man, try to picture if you didn't have the lyrics...lol

			MAXWELL LYRICS

"This Woman's Work"
Pray God you can cope
I stand outside
This woman's work
This woman's world
Ooooh it's hard on the man
Now his part is over
Now starts the craft of the Father

I know you've got a little life in you left
I know you've got a lot of strength left
I know you've got a little life in you yet
I know you've got a lot of strength left

I should be crying but I just can't let it show
I should be hoping but I can't stop thinking
All the things we should've said that I never said
All the things we should have done that we never did
All the things we should have given but I didn't

Oh darling make it go
Make it go away

Give me these moments
Give them back to me
Give me that little kiss
Give me your ...
I know you have a little life in you yet
Give me your hand babe
I know you have a lot of strength left
Give me your prayers
I know you have a little life in you yet
Ooooh oooh oooh
I know you have a lot of strength left
Your loved child
I know you have a little life in you yet
Whatever you need baby
I know you have a lot of strength left
Give me your hand
I know you have a little life in you yet
Give me you hand
I know you have a lot of strength left

I should be crying but I just can't let it show
I should be hoping but I can't stop thinking
Of all the things we should've said that we never said
All the things we should have done that we never did
All the things that you wanted from me
All the things that you needed tell me
All the things I should have given but I didn't
Oh darling make it go away
Just make it go away now

GIrl, he ahs a ton of em. He kills me every time we are in the car. He knows the words to whatever he hears and next thing I now he has a new song going. First time I heard that one, he brought tears to my eyes.
