That's the manager's decision. You never know why they did this, maybe they were looking at having to cut everyone's hours back vs. letting someone go or there was a record of malfeasance on her part. The article doesn't, unfortunately, make us privy to her history with that employer or that employer's particular situation.

Regardless, the bottom line is...

Sending something like that over Facebook is tacky and cowardly as hell.
