Alpha Xi Delta stuff I put on Ebay-check it out

I posted some lots of Alpha Xi Delta merchandise on ebay last night and tonight. There are three total lots, one with 4 shirts from Alpha Xi Delta: Theta Phi at the University of Alabama at Birmingham; One with 2 custom jerseys, a picture tree, the three block letter picture holders, pencils, stickies, and decals and the third one is 2 pillowcases, a photo album, and a keychain. I have so much AXiD stuff and now that I'm an alum I needed to do something with some of it. My tshirt drawer is nothing but AXiD stuff!

Excuse me for crashing your forum but why didn't you just donate to your chapter? Or have a "Alpha Xi Delta only garage sale" type thing?

That's what I think. I bet there are younger girls in that chapter who would think an event shirt from before they became members would think it's cool.

Why not keep the letter shirts? Are you part of an alumnae chapter? We wear letters sometimes to alum events.

Because I need money!!

My take is that she still has plenty of letters etc to wear, she just doesn't need 3265652 shirts. Some of us do go overboard. Plus the t-shirts could be overruns that everyone in the chapter who wants one...already has one.

I agree - ship them to the chapter. They called them "vintage" and used them as prizes for different things.

I wouldn't sell any of my AXiD stuff on ebay. Mainly because when I was in school a girl who made herself known as a greek hater got a Kappa Delta lettered shirt from the Good Will and would wear it all the time. When people would ask her if she was a KD, she was say no and laugh about it.

That reminds me of the thread where Scandia was mad that a homeless person had bought a lettered piece of clothing from Goodwill or someplace similar.

It does suck when someone does it purposefully to upset people.

i'm as curious as NinjaPoodle is on this too...so is the OP selling to whomever on ebay? and is NPC less strict about who wears their para? I'm not saying that ppl in NPHC/Latina(o)/Multicultural orgs would rip their para off a homeless person (i hope not), but most of us are careful with how we dispose of para.

Ah, yes. That was quite a thread.

Unusual sighting - etiquette of it?

Good times.

I think that NPC chapters MAY be a little less strict in the sense that our letters are sometimes included on philanthropy/event t-shirts with other orgs (for example, I have a Sigma Chi derby days shirt that has Sigma Chi letters along with letters of 13 other NPCs on campus). However, things like jerseys, lettered hoodies, etc., should only be worn by members.

I think loveinxi is just assuming that Alpha Xis are going to bid on the auctions. I'm guessing she didn't take into account that non-AXiDs could be bidding on them. I wouldn't guess that happens very often, but I know there are crazy people out there who want to buy sorority letters when they weren't a member, for whatever reason.

Here's one way to take care of excess tshirts that you no longer wear but commemorate your sisterhood and other activities

^I saw that on another thread a long time ago and I LOVED IT! I have my older shirts in a box, waiting for the day that I can begin working on it.

I had my Theta shirts (1992-1995) made into a quilt as well. I still use it all the time because it is so perfectly soft. I even find my husband snuggled up on the couch with it.

Yes to quilts. No to donate shirts/sell them on ebay.
