I knew Krista was going to win just based on the comments she was getting from the judges at different points (ex: "I always tell aspiring models to do X and this is a perfect example of X")

Thankfully though, PLENTY of non-winners end up with contracts and such.

I think I have seen more non-winners in Vogue, Elle, etc than girls who won the whole thing.

It seems like the show is always looking for a certain "type" to win (ie - blonde, brunette, redhead, black, hispanic, mixed, plus sized, high-fashion). Krista is the first "dark skinned" black winner and the panel was kissing her backside for weeks...although I don't think she's anything special.

Now Tyra needs to find an Asian girl to win, and a more "commercial" winner.

Wasn't Teyona just two cycles ago? She was pretty dark skinned.

Even further than that--Danielle from Cycle 6 was the first.

Oh, yeah, no surprise on the winner.
Ditto for all of that. On the close-up, I thought the blue thing was Tyra holding a binder (the edge was so straight). Then it zoomed out and I saw she was wearing it.

Since the show, Raina has been finishing school. She’ll soon be graduating with a degree in broadcast journalism. In June of 2010, Raina is going to Dubai to be the Fall 2010 face of Symphony, a Dubai retailer. After seeing Raina on the show, they immediately contacted her through The CW network.

Before the show, Raina was signed with Moore Creative Talent, Ignite Models, Wehman Agency, and Agency Models and Talent. She is still on the boards at Ignite Models.

Man....that website gives updates on all the contestants. I looked up Amanda from C3 and it confirmed that she has since gone completely blind. I knew she said it'd happen by the time she was 30 but it was sad to see it confirmed.

I know that "model pretty" is supposed to be different, but...

Really? This was her best shot from this shoot? She literally looks plastic.

I saw a couple of other pictures of her on google and she looks like she can take a good picture. This isn't one of them uzzled:

It does. My daughter's modeling contract specifically says not to even call them about your payment for at least 90 days. You are working as a subcontractor, not an employee. So, after your gig, you turn in your work ticket, then they have 30 days to bill the client, then the client has 30 days to pay the agency, then the agency has 30 days to pay you. That's pretty standard for the industry.

Tyra looked like some sort of watered-down Lady Gaga. Meh.

I was so glad Ren left. It's going to be super awkward when she gets home and has to face her Mom after talking all that smack, though.

You think so? I was thinking Reina (which I hope she does because she's been my favorite from the beginning). Then again, I haven't been watching very closely this whole season, so maybe there's stuff I'm missing.

I'd honestly be happy with anyone who is left besides Angelea.

I was sad to see Jessica go yesterday. I thought she was absolutely gorgeous, and my second favorite behind Reina. But I wasn't surprised. I actually thought she was going to be going home early and the judges would peg her as "the pretty girl, but not model girl".
