Happy Birthday Langston Hughes!!!!

Happy Birthday Langston Mercer Hughes...I've appreciated his work ever since I had to recite "Mother To Son" in the 3rd grade black history play ! Does anyone else have a favorite by him?

I live on the corner of a block that was just renamed "Langston Hughes Way" a few months ago. If you're in DC, the best place to go to celebrate him is Busboys and Poets!

I know exactly where your talking about...I'm all about the "DC Tap water" at Busboys and Poets (love open mic nite). And when I hit the lottery I'm moving into Langston lofts.

Word to the wise, Langston has had a million break-ins due to lack of good security. And their crappy back alley entrance to their parking garage. Union Row is where it's at!

I know a man who helped build The Langston..... he told me then never to live there. Paper thin walls and shoddy plans, he said.

Figures...went to a party on the rooftop patio...extremely nice. They've built a few new communities around that lil area.
