Ditto. I'll say a prayer for good health and an encouraged spirit.

The original diagnosis was pneumonia (again...) however they are keeping him for tests and is still in the hospital. We were able to visit him last night and again today. He seemed like he was doing better but they put him into isolation just after we left. If you have a moment, prayers, positive energy, really just about anything is appreciated.
May your brother be healed - also prayers of comfort for you and your family. I'm sure this is stressful on everyone. *hugs*

Thank you everyone. They still aren't too sure why he keeps getting sick. The doctors may send him home tomorrow based on test results.

My son's small private school has suffered a loss - a student was killed in an ATV accident. I cannot begin to imagine the grief they must be feeling. Please pray for the family, and for the school. This is my 10 year old son's first real brush with death - it's tough.

Oh no! A student from my high school class was killed in an ATV accident 3 years ago. Even this long after graduation, it was a huge blow to all of us. I can't imagine handling that loss at just 10-years-old.

His younger brother is in my son's class. I work with the mother. May light perpetual shine on George.

I will lift his family up in prayer.

I am pleased to say that G had a great time on our cruise. She had to rest a bit more than the other girls but she ate well and by the end of the week, her color looked better than it had in months. Her hair is starting to grow back and she will have surgery very soon. She celebrated her 18th birthday on the ship with us. We had lunch at the Johnny Rocket's on the ship and she got a special dessert and the waiters sang to her. Then we took her to the casino where she promptly blew $6.00 in the slot machines. At our formal dinner, we had purchased a cake for her and the waiters sang to her again.

Her mom's most recent Facebook post: She's now out of surgery and in recovery. Everything went great! They removed the uterus and got all of the visible cancer. They were able to save her ureter and therefore her kidney is safe too!

THANK YOU everybody who has been keeping her in their prayers. I secretly cried on her 18th birthday on our cruise, tears of joy that she had made it to see 18. This young lady has had a very difficult senior year and her graduation in June will be very special for all of us

George's favorite hymn - it's really staying with me. The Canticle of the Turning:

I love that hymn, but then I'm a sucker for hymns set to British folk tunes. Thinking of what you've said about George and those who mourn him, I'm reminded of this hymn by John Bell of the Iona Community and set to the tune of Ye Banks and Braes:

We Cannot Measure How You Heal

Beautiful and very fitting.

I just realized Mother's Day is coming up - oh, how I ache for Elisabeth and her first one without George.

A friend found out that a close family friend who has been struggling with cancer for a while has a week to live at most. All parties involved can use your prayers.
