Thankfully, I was watching the Today show. Who, by the way, claimed they would be the only morning show with a live interview. Hmmm.

What parent doesn't stop an interview on live television if their kid is hurling on camera?
A complete narcissist who is looking to extend his/her sick fascination with the media.

God help us, we probably will get another dysfunctional train wreck of a family on TLC - The Heene Family Storm Chasers!!!

Time to stop giving these people attention. I must have tuned in after the hurling becuase I did see most of the interview on the Today show, but it was just Dad answering questions. I thought Meredith Viera was way too easy on him.

So yesterday as I was watching this story unfold the news said military helicopters had been scrambled to intercept the balloon. If this is proven to be a hoax I hope they end up paying for any of the cost incurred by the rescue operations.

Legal buffs, could the parents be subject to jail time, too?

My mom just told me that she read an article about how the mom and dad met at an acting school, and are apparently SERIOUSLY in debt to some production company. I guess they recently tried to pitch a show to TLC with no luck.

If this wasn't a hoax, that little boy better have seen a belt by now. If it was, I vote the parents go to the backyard and pick out their own switches.

I have to disagree with you. In this child's 6-year-old mind, he was doing something because of what he heard (or thought he heard) the parents say. The child said on live television that he hid because his parents "said it was for the show". He was trying to do as he believed his parents wanted.

What good will beating, whipping or hitting a little kid (who did what he thought his parents wanted him to do) accomplish?

This isn't a pro/con of corporal punishment (I'm not here to debate), but a question as to what good hitting a child when he did what he thought his parents wanted him to do.

^^ I agree with you, ree-Xi. I was thinking the kid was a little dope, but if the parents TOLD him to hide, he shouldn't be to blame. They're whack-jobs!

Go read my post again. Typically, when two people are sent to go pick out "their own" switches, they are to be used on them alone.

Meaning if the parents were sent out to pick their own switches, then the switches would be used ON THEM (the parents).

Meaning the parents should be whipped.

This kid reminds me of my nephew (who, by the way, I'm pretty sure is possessed by the devil). *Shudders*

Also, I read that charges are being filed. GOOD.
