				AOEforme Jr.'s Badgerland Recruitment

			My sister has given me permission to share with you her recruitment story. (I've been bugging her for details- I think I'm more intrigued as to where she'll end up than she is!)
 As it's quite obvious where we both go to school and I know there are a lot of fellow badgers on here, I'm not revealing code names except for where she ends up.

 There are 12 sororities on the Panhellenic Council:
 * AXΩ
 * AEΦ
 * AΩE
 * AΦ
 * XΩ
 * ΔΔΔ
 * ΔΓ
 * ΓΦB
 * KAΘ
 * KKΓ
 * ΠBΦ
 * ΣΔT

 All 11 NPC participate in Full Formal Recruitment. My Chapter, as associate members, participates in partial formal recruitment and we have informal recruitment events going on during this entire period.

 These 11 will be known as Big 10 schools.

 * Wisconsin
 * Illinois
 * Iowa
 * Michigan
 * Minnesota
 * Michigan State
 * Northwestern
 * Ohio State
 * Penn State
 * Purdue
 * Indiana

 And even though we know which one is the best (obviously!) and which one sucks the most (*cough* Minnesota! *cough*), the name doesn't reflect at all on the individual chapters.

 I'm not going to bother coding mine because it is really obvious which it is and I'd have to pick another school, which ruins the naming scheme!

 I'm done with work now, so I have to go get ready for pref, but I will update tomorrow. Bid Day is Sunday so I'll have her story finished soon!

			Two things confuse me here. First off, there are 11 Big Ten schools? That's just not right.
 On a serious note, what do you mean by partial formal recruitment?

 | Yes. It was the Big 10 forever, then back in the 90s, Penn State was added. Even though there are 11 schools, the conference name remains the same.

			What I think is cool is that if you look at the Big Ten logo you will see the number 11 within the words.

			Sweet! I spent the week as an assistant rush adviser for my Kappas there, and it was awesome. Bid Day's tomorrow and I'm so excited for them. Can't wait to see where your sister found her home!

 | We're a "special interest group" (women in science and engineering), so we can't give bids to all girls in recruitment. So, we do first rounds, two other events by ourselves, and bid day with PHA.

Bid day was today so I am posting it soon! I'll just say she's really happy in her new home!

				Background Information:

			AOEforme Jr. was quite excited to begin life at UW-Madison. She was getting excited, packing up her things for her dorm, buying her books (she decided on a biology major as she hopes to apply to UW's nursing program in 2 years), and picking out clothes.
 One day, in preparation for school, she called me. "I just got the Panhellenic mailer about recruitment. I think I an going to do it. What do you think?"

 I was thrilled. I hadn't wanted to push her, but I really had wanted her to go greek. She had come for our Families' Weekend last year and I think that was when she realized what a good fit a sorority would be. Besides, she had seen all my pictures from formals, mixers, and philanthropies, and wanted the same experiences.

 My neighbor is a Chi Omega, so she set to work getting AOEforme Jr. recs and prepped her on what would go down at recruitment.

 So move-in came and went and soon recruitment was at our door. AOEforme Jr set out for the Memorial Union Theater with a few girls from her dorm, more than a little nervous about what was ahead of her.
