Definitely have a quick response about the cast. Since everyone will ask, make it seem like it's the first time you've heard the question, don't seem annoyed by the question, and don't go on and on about it. It is what it is and it could help you stand out ("oh, the girl with the cast!").

Just be yourself and there's really nothing you can do about the fact that you're a sophomore, so try not to worry about it too much. If you have a Rho Chi you could try talking to her, but otherwise some houses may not take you simply because you are a sophomore and you can't control that. Focus on what you can control, have an open mind and good luck! Glad you weren't more hurt.

I know SMU has a "sophomore quota"--not sure how many they "have" to take, that # probably varies each year and is set by Panhel.

Glad you weren't hurt more than that, and at least you aren't on crutches! I too think it could be a good way for them to remember you--a bit of "positive spin" might be a good idea. Someone who can be positive ("I'm just grateful it was only my arm", something like that) in the face of an injury might be someone they'd want to have be a part of their group. Good luck!

This might sound ridiculous but on the bright side a cast might actually help you stand out. When a chapter sits down to pref and your name is called, some one will say "oh yeah, I remember her, the girl with the cast! She was really(insert positive adjective)!"
