Yes, although for at least in Kappa Delta some of our oldest chapters are named for other groups or people, for instance, our Kappa Alpha chapter at Florida State, one of our oldest chapters, is named for Kappa Alpha Fraternity. For a while, anyway, it appears there were choices for chapter names. Any other groups that have chapters with a similar history? (I'm beginning to sound like OLDU )

I realize we're somewhat off topic, but I do find this interesting, so I'll add a little more info, just because
Alpha Gamma Delta is regional only after the Greek alphabet was used. In the south, Epsilon (Kentucky), Mu (Brenau) and Psi(Alabama) are the only single letter Alpha Gam chapters. The rest start with either Gamma or Theta.

Maybe it's time to close the thread. Nobody's being nasty...it just seems to have fulfilled its purpose and is now wandering, lost. Poor thread!

Just saw on UA Panhellenic facebook page that there are over 1100 PNM's registered for recruitment at the end of June. Here's hoping all have a great experience in August!

They introduced a teired fee structure this year so that women registering earlier paid a lower fee to participate. They aren't sure if this is driving the numbers right now or not.

Just learned that over 1,300 women are signed up for recruitment and there are 39 days left until convocation! Looks like it is going to be another big one.

My daughter received her UA recruitment book today. It is a beautiful publication, well done with great information for the PNM's and their families. The excitement is building, less than a month until move-in day.

Does that 15 include Sigma Delta Tau? I didn't think they participated in Formal Recruitment.
