It was alright to me. I loved the "Vogue" video, but even in the 80s I wasn't a big Madonna fan.

I had to remind my Glee-obsessed sister about this because she forgot that the picture of them was introduced after Rachel explains that they mixed her dads' sperm together so no one would know who the dad actually was. Then photo reveal.
I wonder if they were any actors in particular or if we'll have a magic re-cast + possible DVD photo edit should they show up.

I HATE the HOME episode. Listening to folks butchering what are normally tear-jerking soul classics is not my idea of a good time.

Ah well, everyone has different tastes. I thought all of the performances in that episode were great. What did you think was butchered? (And if it's by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, which many of the songs in that episode were, does it qualify as a soul classic?)

Agree completely. Madonna episode being #3. I like some story and character development with my singing, and I like it when they weave song into their daily lives and not just in Glee Club practice...but I like musicals, too. I've noticed that kids/teens seem to like the modern music/most of the action happens in the school/lots of Finn and Rachel episodes, whereas 30-somethings and up seem to like the deeper storylines and meaningful songs by multiple characters in different scenarios. I can't stand Finn's singing, and I wish they had LESS of him. And as much as I love Rachel's voice, her neurotic character is really grating on me.

I agree. I was promised a Gaga episode and the FIRST song was freaking Barbra Streisand! NOOOO!
A Lady Gaga episode could have been fully and properly done with solely Gaga songs and they failed compleely at their promise, then they brought in Kiss songs! That's not even a woman! I just sat there disappointed unless Kurt was on the screen most of the time. Also they butchered the lyrics for Poker Face horribly although the often-misheard lyrics seemed to fit the issues Idina's character was struggling with (not being able to love her own child because she's not a baby). I didn't like that they edited the heck out of Bad Romance. She's a free bitch, not a freak. I don't care what your audience is, just don't say it like in the unedited version that EVERYONE hears on the radio 1,000 times a day.
Also why are the same two guys harrassing everyone? It was so lame and unrealistic. That much bullying going on in a school would cause lawsuits on a daily basis.

Because it's using those two guys to represent all the bullying that happens, and it's a show that bases its entertainment playing off sterotypes to differing levels of success. Oh yes and singing and dancing too
Many things in the show are lame and unrealistic, but that's part of the point I think.

On the positive side, I loved the Gaga, Kiss and Beth...and this episode was better than the previous two. I'm looking forward to meeting Rachel's Dads. Have we seen them at all yet?
I was dissapointed by how simplistic the storyline was between Kurt and Finn. I kept waiting for Finn to say to Kurt 'hey, you are not my brother!' and for there to be some depth of exploration of how crappy it can be when adults move in together (they have not committed to being married, right?) but they expect all the unrelated kids to suddenly become siblings who have love, respect and patience for one another!
On the one hand Kurt's dad is a good guy for sticking up for his own son, but at the same time he's invited Finn to live in his house, mostly for his own convenience, and then he doesn't respect his boundaries, and calls him out as an unwelcome guest. That sucks.

Oh wait I managed to survive 4 months without the show being on, I can survive June, July, August and most of September
