BELIEVED? I hope you just weren't 100% certain and there isn't a horrible twist about to happen! I can't wait to hear your ending!

I’m going to have a horribly busy week, so I’ll finish it up!

Bid Day.

I woke up bid day morning very early- like 5am and couldn’t fall back to sleep. My roommate had come back the day before so I basically laid in bed. I tried to watch tv, I went on facebook, I tried to read. Nothing helped. I was so anxious! My cell phone was plugged in, set to the highest volume possible. Our Pi Chis would call by a certain time if we didn’t get a bid.

Bad news spread pretty bad on my hall. Early, two girls had been called. They had ISP’d and did not receive a bid. And then my phone rang. My heart raced – it was my mom, she was just checking to see if I got my bid yet. I was short with her but I just was not in the mood to talk and did not want to miss a call if it were to come in.

The specified time came and went. Ok, so I got a bid. But to where? I dressed in a plain tee and jeans as directed and made my way down to my group. Every PNM was on edge! Again we were ushered into a big room, speeches were made, and our Pi Chis reveled themselves. My Pi Chi, who I loved dearly was a Sunflower. I couldn’t believe it. I had told her all those things about Sunflower and the Sunflower in particular – I was surprised and embarrassed. Honestly, it never occurred to me that she could be a Sunflower! She came back to our group and handed out our bids – and then we had to sit on them and listen to more people talk. This was torture! Finally, someone from Panhellenic gave a count down

I tore open my bid and was greeted immediately by the most beautiful Crest of Alpha Xi Delta!!!

I’m pretty sure I screamed! One other girl in my group was an Orchid – we immediately hugged and jumped up and down. We then gathered with all the other Orchids to run to our new houses. In the distance I could hear the Orchids singing and cheering and yelling over all the other sororities, and they had one of the furthest houses away! They were loud, but they were my home.

While standing outside I saw Frick – she was with the Lilac’s and she was beaming! She waved and yelled congrats. I yelled the same back to her. I was very happy for her. I then saw Frack – she was with the Daffodils, just like she said she would be on bid day.

We finally were allowed to run down to our house and we were met by the happiest sisterhood ever!

Epilogue....

Like I noticed before recruitment, Orchids and Lilacs have a lot of friends in other sororities. Frick and I have become good friends. Her friends that went Daffodil, which were most of them (the one who was upset before pref went Peony) have kind of moved on from their friendship with her. Frick is very happy and involved in Lilac.

After recruitment was over for a little bit, I ran into my Pi Chi. She apologized that her sisters made me feel uncomfortable in their house. I told her that I knew it wasn't all of them and that I truly did like some of the Sunflowers and that honestly had the one Sunflower not made me feel badly, I would have liked to have learned more about them. She said she knew that and understood.

The girls on my hall are pretty much a mix of everything. Its been interesting to see how people have changed in the last 9 weeks or so. My roomate who was fairly anti-greek (very much of the "you join a cult when you join a sorority") has come around a little bit after meeting some of my sisters. She says they aren't that bad and are the exception to the rule!

So thats my story! If you want the code or have guesses - pm me!

:-) this story really made me smile, even tear up a bit.
I loved the honesty and confusion because I know I will definitely be feeling the same thing when I go through recruitment!
I'm happy you found your place! Good luck!
