They were extremely genteel and well mannered, and dressed in a way that (according to GC) could be considered "southern," complete with VV, Polo, khaki slacks, needlepoint belts, topsiders, etc. They would have fit right in had they dropped into Mississippi

So, I guess some "northern old money" is different than others, just as it is anywhere.

I like the people on this show, they are fun to watch, and perhaps they are completely the norm in the area of northern NJ that is heavily populated with Italians, but they are not the norm for all northern old money.

And, not all southern monied folks are "prim and proper" - that's why they get cut.
Thank You! That's what I was trying to say. I've lived in Ct all my life and spend my summer on Nantucket. What you see on this show is not "northern old money" not by a long shot.

Milania is the name of Theresa's (the housewife I think you're referring to) youngest daughter. She's so cute but a brat. The kid's name that was doing the photoshoot is Gia and yes I totally agree she's a bitch! lol. I wonder how they'll behave once they're teenagers.

They might become annoying and uncontrollable teenagers.

These people are kind of nuts.

I thought bringing the book to dinner was a pretty bad idea (whether Dina or Caroline did it). That was for no other purpose than to start drama.

Also, who brings that to start drama at a dinner with KIDS present? You can see Jackie's and a few of the other girl's kids in the background, so they didn't all leave the room. Tacky.

I suppose money doesn't buy class.

Danielle knew it was a bad idea to bring the book to the table which is why I think she did it...she has no tact, or class. I think that the other children (Lexi and Danielle's kids, basically) should have been told to leave the room because they really shouldn't have been exposed to what all was going on. Money definitely doesn't buy class.

Those children shouldn't have been exposed to it at all! Why didn't the mothers stop and leave? Why didn't the men say something? What is wrong with all of them? Fighting over a book that has nothing to do with any of my business? I don't think so...

Y'all are forgetting this is TV. Every season ends with a big dinner/party, etc where things are hashed out. The producers probably wouldn't have liked it if anyone tried to stop the fighting.

What children? Lauren, Ashley and Danielle's daughters? I'm pretty sure all 4 of those already know what is going on, and its really not like anything was THAT bad that they couldn't be exposed to it. And Jacqueline's husband did say something, at least in the end. I think it was better that the men didn't say things earlier, it wasn't their place to step in. This was something that needed to happen, and i think it was good they just stayed back and made sure things didn't go too crazy.

I'm pretty sure (please correct me if I'm wrong) that the Teresa's 3 baby daughters were there (Melania and the other two, at least at the beginning which means they were SOMEWHERE close nearby if not present). I mean, she was flinging a table for crying out loud!

And I'm sorry, but even if I had a daughter that was a teenager, if I decided to give someone a verbal ass whooping A) it would not be televised and B) She would not be present to see her mother act that way. The only exception is Caroline's daughter cos she is grown.

Thos kids should not be exposed to this petty drama and inane actions over pure foolishness.
I can not stand how people will do anything to be on tv. Even if it means embarassing their entire families.

I love this show so much. As my first season of Real Housewives I really think I picked a good one.

You sure did.

You'll have to tune in for OC though, that's my fave.

You did. NY was my favorite season until this one.

I only caught the reunion starting with the "mob" talk. I want to see it from the beginning.
