I don't know. He uses it as an adjective, verb and noun.
Someone commented on the same status I'm bitching about, asking him (more like telling him) it was past time to retire the phrase. Guess I'm not the only annoyed by the stupid phrase.

Boss is a generic superlative IIRC. One of my Brothers used it a lot and we told him to stop acting so white lol.
