anyone here a second degree student?

I graduated with a BA in Political Science and after several years in corporate America, decided that I wanted a change in direction. So now Im taking prerequisites at my local community college to enter a nursing program.

Its SO strange being back in school again, and being older and wiser, I find that Im concentrating on school a LITTLE more than I did the first time. I definitely miss the support and encouragment my collegiate sisters gave me before. Many of us are still in touch, but its not the same as being able to sit in the study room together and quiz eachother and cheer eachother on.

Anyway, just looking to sommiserate with other second degree students.

That's me! I'm in a certificate program for now. I'm taking 16 credits this semester, which my friends think is a lot-not my family though. The first time around I always took 15-18 credits. The biggest adjustment I have to make is the technology. I used a word processor the first time around. Most of my books are coming with CDs.?

I advise graduate students. Many of them already have a MA/MS before coming to us for a sequential Master's. Usually this means that they simply take the core courses of a particular program and have no elective requirements.

I have one Masters in Education but will return to La Verne next week to begin the coursework for my 2nd Masters and my 2nd teaching credential. I currently hold a Multiple Subject credential but will now study for a Masters in Reading anda K-12 Credential in Reading.

My Master of Arts in Library and Information Science is actually my second Masters. I got my first Masters Degree in Secondary Science Education- but I do not talk about it often because teaching did not work out. And my undergraduate degree was in Microbiology and Cell Science- which my diploma does not state, since it only says that it is a Bachelor of Science and I did take science classes in many other disciplines.
