When I was looking at some of the pictures of Obama and his grandparents, I was amazed at how much he resembles his maternal grandfather.

This is so sad, you guys. Grandparents can be very special people--especially when they take over the parent role.

I too had hoped she would live to see him elected. I'd been feeling morose that my mom didn't live to see him elected (she would be ecstatic). I can't imagine the roller coaster of emotion he must be experiencing right now, especially considering that he must be exhausted at this point in the campaign.

RIP Mrs. Dunham

Seriously - I always talk about what a big impact my grandmother (my mother's mother) had in my life, and she didn't even raise me. Hopefully Obama has gotten, or will get, a few moments of solitude when he can take a deep breath and properly mourn.

It's got to really suck being away from his sister right now.

I've been thinking about my grandmother a lot these past few weeks. She has voted Republican as long as I can remember (military town), and I know she walked to the VFW early this morning to cast her ballot. She's 85--so cute! I should call her today after work.
