I wonder if Where the Heart Is? made that notion more popular.

I recently decided that I'd like to get married in my uncle's backyard. It's huge and gorgeously landscaped. What's more, I think it'd be super comfy if the guests sit at long tables for the wedding. This would also make it easier and time-saving because I could turn it into an instant reception! I'd like a traditional church wedding, but his yard is so awesome, that I think it'd be much more fun!

this is silly and I don't think I'd ever do it but I have 2 horses and I would love to walk down the aisle as in our barn aisle, with all the horses standing there plus there is plenty of room for a reception! and I wouldn't have to pay to rent a place out... always a good thing!

I recently found out that for a small fee, a couple can have their wedding in my old high school's gym. That's an interesting location. We didn't even have events in there (because well, it's a gym).

I'm nowhere near ready to get married, but I was looking up wedding/reception venues just for fun. These are the ones I would want to have my wedding or reception.

Philadelphia Waterworks

Adventure Aquarium

Phoenixville Foundry

The Fuel House

In San Diego, California--really La Jolla--there's the wedding bowl that folks have to get up early in the morning and compete to get at the Parks and Recs Department for 8-9 months in advance of the wedding, unless you are super famous. But still, you have lookie loos are your wedding in shorts and t-shirt all clapping because you said "I do" and kissed... I like the concept and I would have done it if I was young, but as I got older, getting into a wedding dress inside a trailer just would have not done well with me...

The first time I read your post I thought of Runaway Bride...then I realized you wouldn't be riding the horses.
