Question Non Traditional Greek Alliances for Party Purposes

Y'all.. I'm still trippin'... a phenomenon like I NEVER thought I
would see is going on at my Alma Mater UAB. The Sigma's, who
traditionally have their week with the Zeta's (last week was Zeta
Week) have somehow talked the Alpha's (who've never shared a week
with ANYBODY) into having BLUE-ICE WEEK at UAB.

I haven't stopped laughing since I saw the poster last night. Now,
I know some are gonna be like,"It's showing Greek U.N.I.T.Y." AND
all that B.s. so be it... But, the Sigmas are already united with
the Zeta's.. so, you know something is up between those two
entities on the yard.

I called my old head UAB Alpha friends last night.. AND THEY'RE IN
DISBELIEF & UPSET...

Is this a sign of things to come? I can't call it.. but if the UAB
QUES and Kappas ever decide to have PRETTY NASTY WEEK.., you're
gonna see a old Head QUe named Swamp Thang beat er'QUE neo and
undergrad responsible in public...

Personally speaking.. I don't care what others do.. It's not gonna kill anybody..... to each his own..

Crimson Ivy week (can't see it).. Poodle Dove Week (can't see it) [put together whatever other combos you'd like]

Blue-Ice? Alphas and Sigmas? How'd they decide on "Blue" coming before "Ice"? I expected this post to be another one of those "Deltas having a Crimson and Cream party with the Kappas", or "Omegas having a P & G affair with the AKA's" topic, but SIGMAS AND ALPHAS??? Maybe both chapters are too BROKE to have their own week...

Shoot, we already got greek unity - it's called the NPHC...

That's pretty jokey tho...what's REALLY going on at UAB??? I'll have to ask my cousin - she's an AKA there.

By the way..."Pretty Nasty Week"...THAT'S HILARIOUS!!! But like you said...I can't see that EVER happening.

I'm with you soror. I thought oh okay another C&C or Pretty Affair, etc.

However, to hear of 2 frats or 2 sororities joining up is rare indeed.

I am still LMAO @ Pretty Nasty.

Smile allright chall IT AIN'T THAT FUNNY

Rivalry was always a part of Greek life. A part that is often taken too far, but it is a part of its existence. If we all thought alike and wanted to be alike, there would only be one FRAT (Omega of course). :-)

it's just that it's TWO FRATS.. and not a frat and Sorority that makes it seem different + the fact that it's not a ONE NIGHT FUNDRAISER.. but a WHOLE WEEK..

ex: let's say the QUE's and Kappa's wanted to throw a BEST OF BOTH WORLD'S type party...

wHAT ARE THE KAPPA'S GONNA DO WHEN "ATOMIC DAWG" COMES ON?

oil and water don't mix.. gangstas don't dance THEY BOOGIE.. and the QUEs and No other males Greeks should throw a jam together.

(that just goes for the QUES.. there's nothing wrong with the other NPHC Male Orgs doing their party thizzle)

I don't understand it either. But Bruh, last year during the Penn relays, the Bruhs and Sigma's had a party together, I was like WTF. I had to make some phone calls on that one. There was also a Soror & AKA party in NY, I think it was last fall. There were plenty that was upset about that one. I have respect for allorganizations, but their is just to many other chapters not to be throwing a party with your own organization. Just my opinion.

You gots to be joking!!! The Bruhs beat the Sigmas up the year before at the Greek on stage. The NPHC must have forced them to. I'm with you SWAMP, heck naw!!!!

Amen!

(My same response from the Que Room)

PREACH!!!

I agree with you 1,913%.
Personally, I'm only down with the Que-Delta collabs. I realize that funding can be a big issue, but I'd rather work alone, with the Bruhs, or with erry'body in the NPHC, rather than join forces with one other frat or sorority.

sorry if i am late on this topic....

the party with sorors and AKA's was from my chapter. and it did cause a little stir, which was expected and wanted because it was jammed packed and money was to be made. no one expected the Deltas and AKAs to through a jam together.

my $19.13 opinion is 2 frats????? (sounds desperate!!!!) hell no! a frat and sorority...yeah. even the idea of the two top african american 2 sororities i(Delta being the LARGEST)s cool because it brings out the frats and all the perspectives and those that wanna have a good time.
