That's where I met members of various GLOs and became friends with some of them. After being exposed through them, I became interested.
I can't even imagine thinking about sororities while I was in high school - I was too busy with everything I had going on. It would have been an unnecessary added stress!

Ditto. Except that technically, I am not 1st generation college. My grandfather attended college (for Mechanical Engineering). My stepdad has his M.S. My grandmother attended college in her 50s. And, my great-grandmother attended a teaching college.
I AM the first person to think about going Greek. My family thought I was from outer space when I told them I was rushing. I would have rushed as a 1st semester freshman, but my boyfriend at the time convinced me that it was NOT something I wanted to do. (Not being Greek, I had NO idea what he said was a lie...) So, we broke up. And, I transferred to Ole Miss the next year. I was a sophomore at MTSU. But, was still considered a freshman at Ole Miss.
No one I know thinks about rushing in high school...

I've wanted to be a Sigma Chi since as long as I can remember. My dad was the president of Beta Xi chapter when he was an active, and then went on to be president of the housing corp. as an alumnus, so I've been surrounded by Sigma Chi life from a very young age.

Beginning of my sophomore year of college.
During my freshman year, I just saw alien letters on annoying people.

I was actually born in seersucker shorts and a Brooks Brothers polo. The doctor paddled me to make me cry, then handed me a bottle of Jack to calm me back down.
In all seriousness ever since elementary school when I started going to football games with my dad, tailgating with some of his brothers and stopping by the house for BBQ and to see how it was doing once or twice a year.

LOL.
You know, everytime I see the title of this thread -- "What age did you begin thinking about The Greek Life?" -- all I can think of is the father in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding."

I was in my freshman year of college. So I must have been 17 or 18.

I think I must have been in 8th grade. I remember looking at my parents college yearbooks (they both went to the same school I eventually went to) and looking at the sorority pictures. I just remembered that it looked like so much fun and I wanted that when I was in college. Didnt think about it again until I was a freshman commuter and having a miserable time that my dad suggested I rush to meet people. I guess it was only a natural step since I was a Girl Scout for 12 years!

The flounce is my favorite part. But it was a false flounce this time.

Or was it a "faux flounce"?

Faux flounce. I like that. Kinda like faux fur. It's the humane way to punk out.

Is F-squared acceptable?
