Um, ... tonight's show, anybody?
Ya know, after watching Watch What Happens LIVE, I think Apollo is so utterly uninteresting. His speaking voice leaves a lot to be desired, and he is not nearly as attractive as I thought he was. Also, I don't believe for a second that he "grew up in a White household" (not that it would matter much anyway).
Honestly, although I should never pass judgement on a couple and how they are perceived, still, the more I watched Phaedra and Apollo's display on the show with Andy, I'm convinced that Apollo is simply a "kept" man. The constant kissing up he does to Phaedra seems to prove my theory. I could be wrong, but that's what I see. That story he gave about when he first saw Phaedra in a car next to him, ... running her down on a snowy highway, blah, blah, blah ... it just sounded like a story the two of them cooked up to down play the whole "lawyer marrying a convict whom she represented" story.

A man's facial hair can make all the difference. It's like how some very gorgeous women can look not so gorgeous depending on how they fix themselves up. His shadow beard game was horrendous and he needs to go back to the clean cut look. The way they trimmed the beard around his lips made him look like he had a funny mouth. I still find him very handsome but without the shadow beard and funny mouth facial hair look.
Why don't you think he was raised in a white household? He's biracial and I assume his mother was white. Did he not pass some white household test or something? I do think it's dumb that Phaedra has him agreeing about the kind of food he isn't accustomed to eating because he grew up in a white household. Um...perhaps he has a love for what are considered low cost foods because he was raised in a low income white household. But, Phaedra is pretending as though the majority of Black households (across social class) eat good, healthy, and relatively costly foods. Phaedra is an idiot--I like her more when she talks less.
I kind of didn't believe the story of how they met. It isn't an impossible story. It's just that they seem to have a "story" for everything. They had a "story" for how many months pregnant she is and now they have a "story" for how they met. Andy was speechless for much of the show. LOL. I also don't believe their "story" for what Apollo does for a living. His response of "wow" when someone asked him made me laugh. Perhaps he wasn't expecting the question and doesn't want to talk about his career. But, I think it's likely that he's not as gainfully employed in a higher-end job as they would like to pretend. He's probably struggling for employment as most "ex-cons" are; and any substantial employment is coming from Phaedra giving him a job. Or, she's keeping him as LikeASista thinks she is---I can see him as a stay-at-home Father and there's nothing wrong with that as long as they don't lie about it.

This is what I think he is, and Phaedra is just too "Southern and classy and traditional" to admit that her husband *gasp* doesn't work.

I was sooooooooooooooooooo NOT prepared to see Hill Harper's fine self make a cameo on this week's episode! Hubba, Hubba, HUBBA!!! And I absolutely LOVED that scene! Cynthia and Peter finally just laid it out on the table. She was NOT afraid to speak her mind. That's my GIRL!!
So, Kim really is a certified nurse, eh ... who woulda thunk it ...

^^^ Watching that same episode, I am convinced that Nene is either an alcoholic or has a personality disorder. Although I know these things are creatively edited, it still seemed to come WAY out of left field.
These are my quick assessments of the ladies this season so far:
Nene: Funny and cool until her "switch" is turned on
Kim: Delusional about her talent and unable to communicate well (should have talked to Nene directly about her comments to JD)
Phaedra: Common. A liar.
Kim: Generally cool but also has a communication problem.
Cynthia: Quirky, doesn't really fit in.
Sheree: The fact that everyone else is so dysfunctional really helped masked the fact that she, too, is a piece of work.
HOWEVER, one thing I really appreciated about Sheree is that she hooked up her daughter's apartment with furniture as a reward for just being a good daughter. That actually made me tear up a little bit and it reminds me of the relationship I have with my mom.
I hope it didn't get repo'ed. lol

nene reminds me of a couple of friends i have in real life - cool, fun, loyal, but CA-RAY-ZEEEE for no damn reason.
this made for a fun & memorable undergrad experience, but as a grown up i don't have time for ppl who can't (or won't) learn to control themselves.
i actually cringe when i see her acting out on the show b/c i can see my girls being "nene" later on down the road.

Oh, God! I told myself that I would NOT watch RHOA this season, but I completely let myself down. Lord, it has already started. As soon as the FIRST episode, Lord?!
Something told me Nene was going to make references to money all throughout this episode. First she buys Bryson a car (uh, ... deja vu from Jersey wives), then she has to make sure everyone knew that she paid "CASH", and then there's the fight with Sheree. I mean, come on, Nene.
I really like Sheree, but sometimes she can be SO phoney to me. I'm still trying to figure out if her personality is real or if it's only for the cameras. She talks so fast, that there is a lot of starting and stopping in her sentences. It's very frustrating. She's also a low-talker, which makes her seem a little seedy. I still like her, though.
I'm really happy for Kim in that she's finally found true love. It really looks like the real deal with her. I hope everything works out with the two of them.
I'm also so proud of Cynthia for opening her modeling school. Now, is it just me, or did the applause seem slow to come when Cynthia walked into Bailey's with "Miss J."? It just looked like the models in there had no interest in seeing him. Weird. I'm so happy that she's willing to give something back to Atlanta by helping ATL become more of a fashion-type town.
Now, Kandi and Phaedra are a whole 'nother story. I still admire Kandi, but WHY does she want to have a sex shop?! It's such a buck-wild type arena, and she doesn't seem to fit that mode. Whereas Phaedra, ... I'd be scared to deal to even DEAL with someone like her. These families are grieving for the loss of their loved ones, and that crazy woman is only concerned about all the money she could make being in charge of funerals. I mean, the way she talked about getting the make-up done on the bodies, and crossing their hands together in the casket made her look like she was enjoying it a little TOO much. Yet and still, I have to give it to her, ... it's certainly not a competitive field that she won't have any problems keeping the money rolling. People die every day.

Kim said he was 25 in the episode tonight. He seems like a genuinely nice guy. I sure hope she treats him well, not just as another "Big Poppa" open wallet.

Sweetie has had a COMPLETE makeover!
And, ya know, I wondered how long it would be before we started seeing the REAL Phaedra & Apollo. More and more, the problems are slowwwwwwly unfolding. For one, the whole funeral home business, Apollo made a blunder when he kindly admitted, "That's not what I asked for ..." ASKED FOR??? Hmmmm ...
Also, I heard loud and clear the little jab he made at Phaedra as he was picking up the baby, "You gettin' heavy like ya mama ..." And, no, I don't think he was playing around. Guys like him start losing respect for the woman who has "kept" them all this time because of the heat they get from OTHER men. I think it's going to be hard for Phaedra to talk Apollo into ANYthing these days.
And let's be reminded that Phaedra has actually told on Apollo twice this season just by her reveaing how unhappy she's been in the bedroooooooooom.
I couldn't help LMAO at the way they clowned Nene at Kim's birthday party. So, now we know that she has no furniture, her car was repossessed and she has gotten her teeth fixed. Okie-dokie ... I'm watching Watch What Happens right now, and Nene is already a little bit snappy with Andy tonight. She's just mad at everybody!
On a good note, I think Croy gets such a kick out of Kim. He's always laughing whenever he's with her. It looks like ol' Kim hit the jackpot. I'm happy for her.
