Y'all, I ask you not to post the results of any sleuthing this year, either on this thread or any others. If you figure out a poster's school, especially if she's currently rushing, please let it go! You may not plan to harm her but there are people on GC who have actually interfered with posters' recruitments.

Thank you!!!!

We can't have it both ways folks. If you want cookie-cutter, "I really liked ABC but wasn't feeling DEF" then fine. Sleuth your hearts out and don't complain when every story is in similar code.

If you want real stories with real thoughts, emotions and details like this one--then enjoy it and leave the sleuthing off the boards.

FYI to any PNM out there reading: I strongly recommend if you're posting on GC and considering recruitment then maintain your anonymity! You can post a recruitment story that is honest, detailed and respectful as long as you take care to remain anonymous. We'll respect you for doing so.

Exactly. Stalk and sleuth and Nancy Drew it up all you want, but keep your findings and guesses to yourself.

Your story reminds me SO much of mine. I went through rush with my best friend, and I still remember the girl who would become my big big coming up to me on bid night and saying "we were afraid we got BF but lost you, and we were so worried." That was the most amazing thing to hear.

My guess, since she didn't post which sororities were at her school: Alpha Gamma Delta.

It just sounds like them to me. Just does.

POST A GUIDE AND TELL US WHO YOU 'REALLY' ARE!

To everyone asking for a guide/real identity:

20something's first post states she is posting an ANONYMOUS thread. She never said that she would reveal the groups, on the board or in a PM, and to splash it all over the board at rush time (after revealing so many gory details) would be very unpanhellenic.

Good details or names, kids. You can't have it both ways.

Exactly. 20something, thanks for such a great read. I totally respect your decision to remain anonymous. Even if people are hounding you for one, I imagine that someone's gonna get butt hurt by your brutally honest comments. Risking your anonymity isn't worth it.

Again, this was a great story and I thank you for posting it.

Co-sign. Co-sign. Co-sign.

There is no need to out the school or chapters. Through her brutal honesty, 20 has included many not-so-flattering details about all the chapters, including her own. Let this thread be what it was meant to be- an insight into the mind of an 18 year old learning to navigate the craziness of freshman year, a warning to all PNMs to monitor their behavior, and a wonderfully refreshing reminder that the house that we initially do not see ourselves in can be the best thing that ever happens to us.

At the end of the day, what chapter Haley turned out to be is not the point of the thread. While many would love to celebrate with 20-something (and hope that perhaps she joined their org), leaving it ambiguous is a much more fitting ending.

Thank you 20-something for writing what will no doubt be a well-read and oft-cited thread.

(...and special thanks for accurate spelling and excellent grammar. Take note, kids.)
