What does everyone think of the top 20? I'm excited for Twitch especially. He just seems so memorable and sweet. Also the Asian guy contemporary dancer. His solo to Queen was straight up HILARIOUS.

On LeslieAGD's note, it doesn't really seem like a lot of Latin or ballroom dancers made the top 20. The only one I remember was Susie Garcia, who is a Latin/fusion type dancer if I'm correct.

Chelsie Hightower is a Latin dancer, and Jamie Bayard is a West Coast Swing dancer.

Now, it's is my favorite style, but I think it's a bit much that 13 of the top 20 are Contemporary dancers.

Twitch is my fave so far. Last year when it came down to him an Hok I was gung ho for Hok but even then I liked Twitch.

Susie Garcia is gross. I hope they tone down her look.

So far, my favorites are Twitch, Gev, Kourtni, and Comfort. The asian guy, the soccer girl, and the guy that trained with Debbie Allen are also interesting. I hope they do well.

I am very disappointed that they didn't take Kelli Baker (the choreographer's daughter)...and I hate that the awesome popper guy dropped out at the beginning of the choreography rounds, but I guess I respect that he didn't want to be this year's Cedric.

I don't like that they took a lot of dancers that they didn't really showcase during auditions (or at least it seemed that way to me). Last year, I really loved most of the Top 20 because I felt like they really introduced them during auditions and Vegas; it made me really root for them. Also, the group doesn't seem as diverse as last year...like half of the Top 20 are contemporary dancers this season.

i do not like the chick from miami. tacky!

glad that twitch made it-what a sweetheart.

loved the bohemian rhapsody solo!

i feel that they should have taken the redheaded roommate, instead of the other roommate-especially after other roommate said that she would not be back if she was not chosen. the redheaded girl stood up for her roommate and seemed so sweet.

Oh, man...Katee (the roommate who made it) TOTALLY turned me off during Hollywood Week....as did Jessica King (when she literally showed her butt at her group member during the choreography round).

I really liked the guy who did that Gene Kelly-esque dance during his audition. He got cut though during the final round when they were choosing the top 20.

I don't have a clear cut favorite yet. I guess I'll see this week who stands out to me.

I think I said this last year but I really like this show so much more than American Idol!

I am really enjoying the new season and think the choreography is great.

Was anyone else bothered by the costumes? Like in the tango, you couldn't see Jessica's legs at all, so I think that took away from her lines. And all the leather on Kourtni made her look big and awkward, even though she's an amazing dancer. Also, Kherrington should have been in heels for that number, not barefoot.

I think the girls are generally a lot stronger than the guys. I'm loving Chelsea T. & Comfort, Twitch & Joshua.

Yes! Now, I know absolutely nothing about dancing, but I do know that the costumes were terrible; especially in the "wedding" dance you couldn't see anything but that bunchy white dress. I thought it looked awful.

I agree. I couldn't see her "movement" because the dress hid her legs. In that lift that they did where he folded her, I couldn't see anything but ruffles.

you have to remember that most of the time the choreographers have a large say in the costumes. obviously mia wanted a ball of puff for the piece because she had her rehearsing in it. unfortunately some pieces are made that way so we wont always see all of the technique. i personally loved the wedding dress choice for the dance.
but i do agree that kherington should have been in heels.

I was amazed at the negativity of the judges this week. Usually, I agree with the negative things they say, but it was overboard! I think they are trying to get viewers riled up to call in for their favorites.

I am usually a big fan of the choreography, but the Mandy Moore piece by Chelsea and Thayne was weird and choppy. I'm glad they didn't get sent home for it. Susie and Marqius' salsa was flat and SAD. I think they deserved to go home.

And if Kherington and is barefoot again next week, she is getting sent to the bottom of my list.

Is it just me, or has Mia been more of a bitch so far this year?

Mia only knows how to bitch or proclaim her love. There's no in between with her. This season, though only two weeks in, has not lived up to the previous three seasons. If it wasn't for Twitch I don't think I'd be that invested in the season.
