Your cousins sound like lovely women to have included their younger cousin in their lives.
Thanks for the DG love!

Definitely one of the big nationals - I hate telling people what sorority I was in and having them say "Oh, so a local?" Yeah, no, but I get it.

Have dear friends who were ChiOs, TriDelts, Thetas, KKGs and DGs, all big strong nationals with great alumni networks. Would probably go with one of those. Maybe ChiO because I love owls or DG because I'm a swimmer.

My first choice would be Pi Phi, because it would be really cool to carry on my grandmother's legacy. Part of the reason I really liked Kappa was because I would have the Monmouth Duo connection with her!

For philanthropies, I'd join Alpha Gam (both my mother and my aunt have type one diabetes) or KD (as a lifelong Scout, supporting the GSA means a lot to me).

Assume that each chapter is equal in all respects except what you find on their (inter)national websites.
It would be difficult for me to choose between 25 totally equal groups; I cannot base my answer biased only toward what is on websites.

One forms opinions of, and chooses, their sorority during rush based on personal standards. My own standard would be to meet the NPC women in their homes and discover with whom I best relate. During my own rush, I most enjoyed interacting with the Kappa Delta and Chi Omega women.

Delta Gamma because the Delta Gamma Center in St. Louis is fantastic for families with visually impaired children and because I really like the Delta Gammas at Washington University.

Delta Zeta because the Painted Turtle Camp is awesome, and because a friend from high school was a Delta Zeta.

I would want to be in the same sorority as my daughter:

Alpha Chi Omega

I love their tagline:

Real...Strong...Women

and their philanthropy:

Domestic Violence Awareness

Probably Tri-delt, kappa kappa gamma or delta zeta for mostly superficial reasons, i love their badges, colours, sound of their names, and symbols.
i'm also a big fan of their philanthropies.

Tough call.

Going just by what's on the inter/national web sites? Phi Sigma Sigma, as the first non-sectarian sorority. It doesn't hurt that I love their symbols.

Going by people I know IRL? Sigma Kappa. There was a chapter at my school, which for various reasons I didn't join (obviously), but in the absence of my chapter I think I might have found my home there. Also, my next door neighbor is a Sigma Kappa and she's very sweet.

Going by interactions I've had on GC? That would be a very tough decision indeed.

I think that what I've learned over the years as an alumna and especially here on GreekChat, is that we are all more similar than we are different and I'd find sisterhood and happiness in any of them.

Oh, good answer. I agree with you.

But when I am flipping through catalogs, the Kappas tend to have the best options for beautiful jewelry or decorative items based on their flowers, symbols, mascots, etc.

Not that I don't love my roses, pearls, and squirrels or that I'd choose a sisterhood based on shopping options.

Very well put!

I have this feeling that my answers won't come as any big surprise:

Phi Mu
Pink and Azure (Robin's Egg) Blue have always been my favorite colors - had Phi Mu been on my campus, I would have been hysterical! I'm falling back on t*p's list, because it's basically mine, too:
* They are our Magnolia sisters!
* Their philanthropy is awesome!
* I love, love, love pink!
* I love that Sir Fidel and Alphie are like best friends!
* The blinged out Phi Mu badge is awesome! (and I love the shape & style)
* I like their selection of sorority jewelry!
* "To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand." is the first line of their creed and I tend to volunteer and help others when I can.
* Plus, the historical angle really did/does mean a lot to me.

Pi Beta Phi
* I love, love, love their philanthropy!
* I love their Arrow pin, and the 12 links representing each founder - how cool! I also love that it's properly worn at a bit of an angle.
* Angels!
* One of the girls at my high school became a Pi Phi, and I had always thought that she was the model of a "sorority woman".

And lastly

Kappa Kappa Gamma

* I love their colors & the meanings - my room at my mother's house still has sky blue walls and an ocean blue rug - with a wall of keys!
* Their philanthropy,
* Their pin, that lovely Key of Gold!
* I would have been sharing this with my late grandmother, whom everyone says that I am identical to. Believe it or not, I have irises in my yard!

I also felt a tug to Alpha Xi Delta, just from their pin. One of my best friends in DAR is an Alpha Xi Delta - I keep daring her to wear her Quill on her DAR insignia!

Being a jewelry girl, I'd have to say Kappa Alpha Theta - they now have turquoise as an option on their badge and I just love it (www.hjgreek.com) and every Theta I have ever met has been an outstanding woman of character, loyalty and determination.
