ΔΦΕ -- Their philanthropy (anorexia nervosa) is really meaningful to me, having struggled with the disorder myself, and their open motto (Esse Quam Videri; "to be, rather than to seem to be") really intrigues me. I LOVE the unicorn, and their crest is so cool. Also a huge fan of purple and gold. If there had been a ΔΦΕ chapter on my campus, I would have shown a lot of interest.

ΑΕΦ -- I'm Jewish, and that automatically attracted me to ΑΕΦ. I also love the symbolism behind the giraffe (biggest heart, and the head is above all others!). Lilies of the valley are also totally gorgeous... but nothing beats the cream-colored rose!

ΑΔΠ -- They were one of my pref round houses, and I really did love what I saw. Classy ladies, a great philanthropy, beautiful sisterhood. I really loved ΑΔΠ.

ΑΞΔ -- Love the crest, love the colors, love the philanthropy, love the teddy bear mascot. Plus, the DBF is likely going to rush Sig Nu, and ΑΞΔ has ties there.

ΔΔΔ -- I was very impressed with this house during recruitment, but on my campus they tend to be very choosy and usually only take girls with recs. The Tri-Delts I know are very classy and very friendly, and so outgoing and gorgeous inside and out. Such a strong national reputation, too.

ΠΒΦ -- Love the philanthropy, the colors, and the fact that it's got an incredibly strong national reputation. I did *not* like the chapter on my campus.

ΚΑΘ -- The Theta chapter at my college is full of smart, classy, gorgeous ladies who have a huge amount of house pride. I was very sad when I was cut after the second round. Again, super national reputation. Also, I love the black and gold!

ΚΔ -- Finally, ΚΔ. I was a Girl Scout for years and I actively support Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty. Like with Pi Phi, not the best chapter on our campus, but a good national sorority.

There's my incredibly long-winded answer, but still, I'd never give up my bronze, pink, and blue!
Just a word of advice: It's fine to say that you may not have liked ABC sorority at your school, but be careful to make statements like "not the best chapter on our campus." That sends a very different message and your definition of "the best" will differ from others.

Sorry! >< That is what I meant, that I didn't like the chapter on our campus. You're right, I did phrase that badly.

And even then, some things are often better left unsaid. Why say you don't like them when you could (1) say nothing or (2) say something more neutral, like you don't think you'd have been a good fit with them?

For me, it would be ...

Theta Phi Alpha, for their Catholic heritage, their Appalachian and homeless philanthropic activities and their creed.

Alpha Sigma Alpha, because someone I admire very much is one and one of them contributed to the success of West Virginia's own Rocket Boys.

Alpha Gamma Delta, for their adorable mascot.

Alpha Chi Omega, for their beautiful badge and fine arts heritiage. I preffed them when I rushed.

Alpha Xi Delta, for their strong sisterhood. Although I personally didn't feel I was right for the chapter on my campus, I always admired their strength.

and Pi Beta Phi, since I think it's cool that they have an elementary school named after them in North Carolina.

There is also an outpatient brain injury rehab center in Nashville named after them. Thanks to the Nashville Pi Phi alumnae for their continued very generous support of the Bill Wilkerson Center, a comprehensive facility that treats all types of speech, language and hearing disorders.

As a former employee of the Bill Wilkerson Center, I can honestly say that my appreciation for Pi Beta Phi just grows stronger every year.

Oh, and a bonus-turtles are too cute of a mascot. Turtles are deaf, and is our mascot because our philanthropies deal with the deaf and hard of hearing?

off topic:
This field biologist has to point out that turtles are not deaf. Sorry, but it's a myth.
:end off topic

It takes the fun out of it if you say that you would join your sorority. It's neat to hear how other women view other sororities or what their reasons would be for joining

Not to mention, I think/hope we'd all choose our own sororities if it were a choice, but if some of these posters would read the original post...that's not the point of the thread.

It's a little sad if you wouldn't, right?!

Too many to choose from! If I lived in a terrible world with no Alpha Phi, I'd be extra-interested in:

Kappa Alpha Theta
- Black and gold goes with Georgia Tech's colors and I like the single-letter nickname. No chapter at my school.

Kappa Kappa Gamma - Fleur-de-lys and ditto on the single-letter nickname. Sapphires are my birthstone. No chapter at my school.

Zeta Tau Alpha - Love the crown. Also at GT, "On Wednesdays, we wear pink." (line from Mean Girls that plays on ZTA's philanthropy).

Alpha Delta Pi - Gotta have respect for the ladies who started it all! Great chapter at my school.

Phi Mu - Love the pink, quatrefoil, and French motto.
