I just want to know if you have a brother. If so, point him toward Tennessee.

ok, If I were a French/American girl, here's what I would want for my birthday:

High budget:

-Dinner. Preferably at La Tour D'argent or one of Alain Ducasse's restaurants but if you can't afford that, any Michelin 1 star or 2 star restaruant is good. A homecooked meal is great too if you can cook and can't afford one of those places.

-A long weekend trip to the riviera or one of the wine regions or skiing in the alpes. Really anywhere romantic that the TGV goes to.

Middle Budget:

-nice jewelry, you already gave her a necklace so give her matching earrings.

Low Budget

-walk along the seine, bring a picnic and a bottle of wine.

High budget:

-Dinner. for two at La Tour D'argent = about 400$ (with wine)

a little bit expensive...just for one evening

Middle Budget:

-nice jewelry -> that's ok, or Hermes Eau de toilette in a wonderful crystal bottle (about 400$ too..)

Low Budget

"walk along the seine, bring a picnic and a bottle of wine"

How nice, a VERY GOOD idea anyway

aww, I like the Hermes eau de toilette idea.

Looking back now, I think my list is alot of things that I wish my french boyfriend (currently imaginary, wish he were real ) would do for me.

J'espere que votre ami passe un tres bon anniversaire!

To buy a dating gift you need to know her first and its well enough to surprise her.

Flowers, chocolates, jewelry or piece of clothes would all work.

Something from Hermes. Some ideas:

Elixir
An enamel bracelet (so many to pick from)
A small leather good piece like an agenda, wallet, coin purse etc. (expensive, but will last a lifetime)
scarf (if that is her forte)
cashmere blanket (luxurious and yummy for cuddling)
