That totally bugs me, too! Some of my sisters will hand-write "KKG" and I'm like ah! A gamma is so much easier to write, and it's correct!

At UF, Sigma Phi Epsilon was definitely SigEp and Pi Kappa Alpha were the Pikes.

However, while Delta Phi Epsilon is often known as Deepher, at UF it was D Phi E. And Alpha Xi Delta (when it was there) was A Xi D, not Alpha Xi.

Gamma is a Greek G and Kappa is a Greek K, so there's nothing wrong with KKG. An E is not a substitute for a Sigma, a Sigma is a Greek S. I always tell people to say/write SK when they say/write EK.

He obviously knew what it was, but liked to kid around with us.
That's so funny! I've heard "I-O M" since a Phi incorporates both I and O. I've heard "Zero M", since they think it's a zero with a strike through it!

Sometimes I wish we did have a nickname, but our name's so short that it's unecessary. (And Phis won't work for various and obvious reasons). But I also like that you are obligated to say the whole name too. It's kinda respectful in a way.

In my defense, I didn't know it would let you do that! Most websites probably would say it's an invalid character. Please don't tell HQ on me!

Yeah, but if they're writing it by hand? The E vs. Sigma thing is lamer, but I'm sure you can see where I'm coming from.

They go by that too, but when using that name they often end up having to explain that they're "not like the movie."
