lol as gay as it sounds, i've thought about it as well.

I'm in the market for a new car and i thought about buying a Nissan 350Z, Infinniti G37, or a Ford F150... very different selection but it crossed my mind like yours

Tahoe or Land Rover in my opinion.

The old Defender is way up there if you had to pick one.

I drive a Lexus because I wreck big automobiles.

Small cars, hybrids, and hatchbacks are unacceptable for men, in my book- but that's probably just me. I think you can tell a lot about a person by what they drive.

Croakies are practical, especially here in the Sunshine State.
I figured! I picture a whole bunch of Ford F150s parked outside the houses down there. And I have nothing against croakies! My husband wears them all the time when we go camping and hiking, they are very useful.

When I was in graduate school at Univ. of Memphis, the joke used to be that the Sigma Chi parking lot looked like a Jeep dealership.

I know what you mean. You're either a "truck guy" or you're not. Some guys do just like and are more comfortable in cars (and thus, "look better" in them). One of my brothers (went to school in GA and is greek) has always been and will always be a "car" guy. He won't set foot in a truck and he gets on my other brothers' penchants for big ol' pickups.

My 6'4" 300 lb noseguard NRA member conservative brother took his drivers' test in my red VW new beetle. It was a sight. He now drives an F-150.

I'll be transferring to UGA next semester actually is why i ask. Its my homestate, couldn't get in out of highschool, its gettin way too hard

I've never thought of them as preppy. Just convenient to hold your sunglasses.

Also, you're a douchebag if you own Croakies and don't fish or ski.

Ok, the north-south, dressy/not dressy for football games differentiations I think we've all gotten to understand the gulf of experience that exists.

But are we now really going to "tier" which outdoor activities are better than others? So only fishing and skiing count? And is that snow skiing or water skiing? Can someone who's kayaking down the rapids in WV wear croakies and not be a douchebag? What about hiking/backpacking in the Appalachians?

Can you only be on a boat with a fishing pole or a ski lift to wear croakies and not be a douche?

Wow.

I figured you could deduce from "fishing" and "skiing" that I meant things that would fall under the outdoors category. Sorry I didn't type out every activity I could think of where Croakies would prove useful. Obviously they were originally meant for skiers and fishermen.

You read way, WAY too much into things sometimes. I never said anything about tiers.

...the point was that if you are buying the things just to say you have them (i.e. trying to hard to be "fratty") you're a douche.

i enjoy the ocassional fishing trip myself or sitting out on the lake.

but in all honesty, is it not okay for someone to have them for the pure purpose that its convenient for putting the sunglasses on and off your face when its sunny outside. thats just a thought too lol.

Of course it is. I think what some of us are saying is that it seems like a silly thing to classify as "fratty" or "preppy," and it's just sad if people are buying them to fit in, as if it designates some sort of status.
