I'm SO excited.

I'm worried about clothes. Is it okay if my white dress has silver glitter on it or does it have to be ALL WHITE NO EXCEPTIONS ?

How obvious is it? What I'm picturing in my head is the kind where the light has to hit it just so in order to tell that it's not just white. If that's what it's like and you have no other options then you could give it a shot. Otherwise I'd keep shopping.

They're pretty strick about "all white no exceptions" at Convention. (Which I personally think they should be! It would be bad to have someone go back to their chapter and say, "well at convention, they let me wear....") They will have people checking the doors, and I have seen them turn women away for not having solid white dress or shoes. I would heavily recommend no silver glitter. But, remember, you can wear a white skirt and a white shirt, so it may not be necessary to buy a new dress.

Thanks ladies. I figured that Convention would be more strict than my chapter.

Are any of you signing up for the free time activities?

I haven't really thought about it, they seem kind of expensive although one of the ladies I'm coming with has researched the cost of cab rides for the shopping trips & figures they're about even for the cost (except if 3 girls went in a cab they could split the cost instead of paying individually!) And knowing that I probably won't buy anything I'm kind of torn on the issue. Maybe I'll just stay by the pool (if its not too packed!)

I'll be driving there since I'm close by and picking up violetpretty from the airport so my car will be available. I'm more apt to do things on my own than go to the free time activities. We can pile in my car and head out to do what we want. I drive a Camry so I can fit 3 more folks comfortable or get 4 people but the one in the middle seat will be a bit mushed.

OK, so just saw today's Virtual Violet & it says "white dresses"...no mention of white skirts/tops (which is what I normally wear for ritual.) Should I risk it or just try to afford a new white dress? I've got a white sweater I also wear, no matter if its the dress or skirt/shirt outfit.

Also, what about white sandals? I have sandals that sort of look like these, but with no heel, should they be closed toe shoes?

Those are perfectly fine. If you're unsure about skirt/top you could email HQ but I really don't think it'll be an issue.

In case anyone still needs one...I've been seeing white dresses at Target, Ross and Marshalls.

Thanks for the heads up! I might be buying a new one if I can afford it. As well as new white shoes-just for the heck of it!

Anyone decide on who they're going to dress up as for the red carpet? I don't think I will dress up, I can't even think of who I'd dress up like, nor do I have that much money to buy some new, fancy, outfit.

You would think this would be easy, but I think this is the hardest Confirmed Coventionite outfit to come up with that I've attended! I agree- unless you look exactly like someone, it is going to be difficult! We have 6 alumnae coming from our area- we are currently trying to think of some recognizable groups we could dress as. The Spice Girls is our current favorite, but there are only 5 of them! All else fails, I guess I'll just wear an old formal dress and just be myself on the red carpet!
