I agree that having your own "Cartoon" mascot is pretty childish. I get it why Zeta would want Ariel to be an unofficial mascot...If it was up to me-my sorority would use a disney mascot unofficially because one of our sisters/ alum was the voice of a certain disney character in a certain movie, as well (no-not the little mermaid-I wish it was, though)....Even if Zeta, ASA or DG did do something similar to that-I would have to say that the fact they are NATIONAL and well known throughout the world would make it much more alright than some girls who threw some letters together, with a mascot from Disney and called it their own....

Another thing I find a bit irritating is the fact that the girl had the audacity to say they "pay" Disney....okay-I'd love to see that happen. That's pretty hard to believe considering I graduated from Penn State and even though I paid TONS of money to go there-bought lots of PSU merchandise and even worked on campus for a little-if I went to the local Greek shop-unless Panhellenic needed the shirts-no group or one person could have the Nittany Lion head printed on anything they wanted. In fact, in my internet class we were told that if we put up a website that talks about us going to Penn State-we cannot have the head anywhere or we could get in trouble for copyright infring....so, please explain to me (unless someone in your chapter is a descendant of Walt Disney himself) how you are all able to use ARIEL the Little Mermaid?

I'm not sure how in the world you meant that, but it comes across as a really misinformed, harsh, and unneccessary slam on local organizations.

I really don't think that kind of infringement is ever ok, whether it is a national or local group that is doing it.

oh man HAHAHA I'm so sorry but I have to laugh. I'm new to GC but new to Greek life and who does this little girl think she is. Paying DISNEY are you serious. Like honestly I dun think all ur daddy's money cud buy those rights hun. And you're just a Local sorority I could understand MAYBE if you're a national very well know and prestigious Greek organization Located maybe near Disney. Seriously are you kidding me. HAH you're probably not even in that sorority you're probably not even in A sorority and maybe saw people wearing those letters. I can't believe that if you were part of a sorority you wud bring this much disgrace to them. I feel bad for Kap Phi Chi I really do especialy if they are your sisters and they have to put up with the likes of you. Oh boy and this is me being Nice.

I'm LMAO right now. Only because I wish you girls know what these girls are like. They are ALL like this, they all think they are better then anyone else.

This is nothing that I wouldn't expect from a Kappa Phi Chi girl.

Oh well I'm sure glad I don't know them because, if they think the world revolves around them, things will not be pretty should there ever be a confrontation with any of them. They give sorority girls the bad reputations that we have and it disguts me. Especially when people try and clean our reputaton up girls like that come along.

Hey, n00b, be careful calling out another org when you put nearly unintelligible posts like this out on a public forum. You already outed the org you're in on another thread (http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...&postcount=301) though I'm not sure I quite believe it's true, if you're really one of their pledges, you might want to represent yourself better out of respect for them.

Well, I mean, how can you say Ariel isn't a "real Disney character?" SERIOUSLY? It says Disney on the box, and before the movie starts. I may be mistaken, but that constitutes a Disney movie. And Ariel is a character in said movie. So.... yeah, you're just wrong RushLeader. And I'm sorry, but Ariel is WAY cooler than Jasmine. I'll give you that she may not be as "classic" as Snow White or Cinderella, but she embodies FR if you think about it: "Part of Your World." Need I say more?
