A Beautiful Mind
Movie about Professor Nash . . .
I didn't know the story before I walked in so it came as a surprise for me, therefore I won't ruin the potential surprise by telling the premise.
I will say that I almost had to leave the theatre because at one point it showed so much stark emotional pain, conflict, and dissapointment between the main characters that it nearly broke my heart .. . but I braved it out and it had a validating ending . . .
Worth seeing.

I can't believe you are the first one to write about this James, I thought that I must have missed the thread and was way too late to comment on this WONDERFUL movie! I am a psych major, and was told by all of my profs to go see it. Not being the biggest Russel Crowe fan, I was apprehensive at first. I absolutely loved it, I was crying during several parts, just imagining the turmoil going on inside Nash's head, as well as during the scenes that made it a love story. I believe that this movie deserved every Golden Globe it received and will be disappointed if the Academy does not recognize the superior acting, direction, and touching story that it is.

I went with my mother to see this over the holiday break. We both loved it! It was a G-R-E-A-T movie!! I totally recommend that you go and see it.

Okay. If you intend to see it, don't read this.
---------------------------------------------------------
I'm actually getting ready to read Nash's Theory of Equilibrium which kind of pisses me off because I had started pondering a theory of equilibrium as well....but alas...it's been done.
The film is absolutely brilliant on so many levels, and for those of you who have seen it, you'll agree, I'm sure.
The way the producer puts the viewer in a schizophrenic state is amazing, convincing us of John's reality then leaving us as confused as he when we discover that Charles is a figment of his imagination. I began to question what was real and what was not entirely. I asked myself if his wife was real, if the doctor was real..I felt nearly as if I too were plagued with schizophrenia.
Brilliant Movie.
Tell me what you think

Anyone know of any other films along these lines...particularly math-related? Good Will Hunting is in a way, as is Pi in a way....any others?
