I'm also a Beta Sig belle in Macon. We try to incorporate alumnae into a lot of things we do. Each spring, we have something called "Peaches and Pi" that we do we Phi Mu where we invite alumnae from both sororities to come to Welleslyan.
I'm going to be visiting the fountain and the grave pretty soon, probably mid October, so I'll take pictures and post them up here then.
I've heard of the "Peaches and Pi" event before - it's sounds simply delightful!!
You've probably noticed that a lot of us have "Macon Magnolia" in our signature - it's from when many of the GreekChat Phi Mus and ADPis felt that we needed to pay homage to our similar roots!
As I've talked about before, I'm from a town right down the road from Macon and have visited all of the exciting founders spots several times. I read a thread on the Phi Mu board and am now curious...
How many of you have actually been to Wesleyan to see the fountain, to The Cannonball House to see the room there, or Rose Hill Cemetary to see Eugenia's grave?
i have been to all of them for field trips and such elementary school-high school. i LOOOVE macon, there is so much history there!! i mean hello little richard, the allman brothers, otis redding (i graduated with his grandson in high school) and of course my favorite time of the year.. CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL!!! hehehe
and of course adpi and phi mu!!!! hunnie843 and anybody else from central ga...... is it just me because it seems like everytime i'm out and about in macon i see adpi and phi mu everywhere (i mean obviously mercer) but also some ederly ladies still wearing their letters about town.
also if yall are heading to macon, karats and keepsakes has a really cute greek section in their store i got some adpi & phi mu stuff for my friends that pledged both sororities at uga!!
