What many of the above Posters said is and can be true.

But, When I started Local, there were many ages among us.

I guess a lot depends on the Particular Chapter on age condiderations.

But, to this day, I dont really feel any older than My Much Younger Brothers. When We are together with others, I am just a Brother, We all have the same goals and dreams no matter what age!

Rushing can be harder from an age stand point, but, if You dont give it a try, what will you know?

There may very well be a person that is needed and it goes from there.

Stability can be a good thing whether they realize it or not!

Just do Your best, that is all one can ask!

It will take longer than I was expecting but I'll do it anyway.

I will keep you informed down the road.
Good luck! Is recruitment this coming semester?

I think you are making a great choice. Rushing as a "non-traditional" student takes guts! I admire your determination, and I wish you lots of luck. I really hope it pays off I can't wait to hear about your experience!

Good for you with going through with recruitment! I read an article in our AOII magazine, To Dragma, that there are more "non-traditional" college students now than ever before. I would think you wouldn't be the only one going through recruitment.

I was planning to rush this fall term but I have to take some courses in a College that has no Greek Life at all, but it will only be for this semester.
In Spring I will be in the University of my choice with the Greek system I've been looking for.

So I will be looking for COB during Spring or I'll wait till next formal Recruitment in '06 (anyway I'll be 27 by then).

And of couse I'll be here telling you everything about it.
It's the least I can do, since you are being so supportive!

Thanks

I think it is awesome that you decided to rush!!!

There is a sister of mine who rushed when she was about 24-26 (I don't remember her exact age). She had just started college and wanted to join a sorority.

I agree that we need to get over the age hang up. Sometimes life happens and not everyone can go to college right after high school.

FYI: I actually know of one of our chapters who initiated a woman who had a daughter.

Wink

Although it may not be totally comfortable....I think that older women should be welcome as potential pledges. I pledged when I was 19 (I was a junior in college) and now...at age 28, I'm on my sorority's National Board. After not really being involved for 7 years, I'm surprised at how much I enjoy the group; and also how much I still have in common with the brand new sister's who are 10 years my junior! I mean, I can have more meaningful conversations with them than I can my co-workers that are the same age as me; probably (no definitely) because we share the bond of sisterhood.

Sisterhood is lifelong; you never get too old for it!
