Indiana has a timeline for Recruitment that is a little different than other campuses.
PNMs visit all 19 houses in the fall. The next round of visits is in January and are all by invitation.
This is a calendar from the Panhellenic website, probably a little outdated but helpful for us to visualize what's going on.
December 2nd - 3rd 19 Party
January 4th First Invite
January 5th Second Invite
January 6th Preference Round
January 7th Bid Day

Thanks for the even more detailed info. So is the "3rd 19 Party" like the end of her open house visits that the OP was describing? And wow, they still do 4 full rounds when they get back! I was assuming they'd start right with second sets or something. That is a LOT of rushing!!!

Good luck! Today, all my sorority friends came in to class and looked like the walking dead. Must have been tiring.
Don't pay attention to the "reputation". I have met girls from both ends of the "reputation spectrum" and all of them were very nice.

seriously, how much dirty rushing goes on? we walked into a room at a certain house and a girl was getting "hot boxed" the girl giving me the tour i think was pretty nervous i would say something, but im not going to, i was just wondering...b/c i have a friend who said a girl at a different house dirty rushed her and said they were going to be bestfriends when she joined. she reported it to our rho gamma, even tho she said she loved the house so idk why she would, but she did. haha anyways...how much goes on intentionally?? b/c i did get the "ill see you in two months" a couple of times but i think thats just out of anticipation

In Kappa Delta Chi recruitment is different than it is from traditional sororities, we invite anyone who's interested to informationals and hold a rush period. If KDChi is a sisterhood you'd like to be involved in and you meet the academic, community service, events coordinating and fundraising requirements (which are challenging enough to weed out the dedicated leaders from the rest of the pack) then you continue on through the process to become a sister. In our sisterhood there is no checking on parents background, financial standing etc. Our sisterhood is about who you are, what you bring to the table and how you stand out on campus so that you can add to a group of other ladies who want to inspire you to be better.
We also don't feel "rushed" during our process because it gives you plenty of time to get to know the sisters on campus, the organizations founding and values so that you can decide for yourself in a realistic setting if this sorority is for you. It's a pretty huge decision to make if in fact you are going to be a part of it for life.

Prior to joining my sorority, they never checked on my parents' background or financial standing. Whether or not I was able to afford my dues was of concern to them and not anything else. Who my parents are and how much they make was not a determining factor in my invitation to membership.
I understand that you're trying to spread the word about your organization, but please refrain from posting assumptions like the ones above.
Thanks.

And please refrain from derailing threads so you can recruit for your org. I know little to nothing about your organization, but spreading the good word all over message boards isn't the way to promote an organization...

checking of parental background and financial standing is all a myth.

Reality in my case. One chapter called my parents to confirm some of the information that I had provided on my panhellenic registration form, as well as get more info about my family and what my parents did for a living. How do I know this? My dad told me--he had no idea what was going on since he knew nothing about Greek life. Then, in a late round, the sisters who were assigned to me that night "casually" mentioned things like, "Sooooooo, your dad's in the medical field??????"

I am so sorry - am I correct in remembering that a new sorority is colonizing soon? That would be a great opportunity!

Unfortunately IU isn't going to be expanding at this time.
I'm sorry recruitment didn't work out for you hun. IU is an amazing school and I'm sure you'll have a great college experience.

You're probably thinking of another Big 10 school with a gazillion chapters and gorgeous chapter mansions---Illinois is adding Alpha Xi Delta.
