Tribute to Mary Donnelly Haskell

Mary Donnelly Haskell is an incredible woman...and she's our Sister! She attended the 2004 Chi Omega Convention, along with her husband, Sam Haskell (head honcho of the TV side of the powerful William Morris Agency). Mary, a former Miss Mississippi, is a talented actress, singer, wife & mom. One of the most impressive things about this couple is all that they give back to their Mississippi community. They began a Foundation to award college scholarships to needy Mississippi students in memory of Sam's mother. They have raised over $3 million, primarily through hosting the star-studded "Stars Over Mississippi" gala which is held every 2 years.

Thumbs up Saturday Early Show

Did any of you ladies catch your sister this past Saturday morning on the CBS Saturday Early Show. She was part of the Second Cup Cafe and she was just great.

Darn it, I did not see the show last Saturday! Thanks for letting us know, jhujenn!

From the CBS website:

SECOND CUP CAFÉ: Inspirational Singer Mary Haskell will be the featured performer in our Second Cup Cafe. She'll be singing standards from her debut album entitled, appropriately, "Inspired."

She was on Tony Danza today! He introduced her as a good friend and her husband was his agent. She sang "All My Tomorrows".

Sam & his wife Mary attended the Chi Omega Convention in 2006. She sang and he did a presentation. Outstanding people.

Romano, Garrett to pay tribute to agent Haskell
Associated Press
May 11, 2007

The battling Barone brothers will be back together next week, but it's not a reunion of "Everybody Loves Raymond."

Ray Romano and Brad Garrett will pay tribute to veteran Hollywood agent Sam Haskell at a May 17 dinner. Their TV mom, Doris Roberts, will be there, too.

Haskell is the former head of worldwide television for William Morris, who specialized in "packaging" clients and ideas to take to the networks for possible shows. "Everybody Loves Raymond" was one, along with "Murphy Brown" and "The Cosby Show."

"Sam broke the barriers of television by packaging groundbreaking shows that will be remembered throughout time while changing the way audiences viewed television," Romano said.

Former clients Sean Hayes, Jean Smart, Rick Schroder, Kathie Lee Gifford, Kirstie Alley and Debbie Allen are also scheduled to be at the Beverly Hilton.

Did anyone see her on the Saturday Morning Early Show on CBS on Saturday? She has a new CD of religious songs she recorded with the Symphony in the Czech Republic.

She looked fabulous and sounded great!
