haha i got to the nut and bolt and thought of something completely different than what the explanation was. at first i thought...isn't that the opposite of the image for the party you're trying to convey... i dunno maybe im just sick in the head...my b.

umm we did a wine and cheese party for a mixer once and it was really fun. just a suggestion

haha. You were probably thinking of a good t-shirt slogan:
"We Screw, We Nut, We Bolt..."

Sorry to be distasteful, but I've seen this shirt before...

I would guess it has something to do with pizza, rats, dirty indoor playgrounds, and little children with no shoes on?

I'm gonna guess that since it was called "Mocktail" that the drinks didn't really have alcohol in them...

No alcohol-- One of our chapters does a Mocktail recipe event as a philanthropy fundraiser-- if I remember correctly, the winning team gets a trip to NOLA? The Mocktails are creative non-alcoholic beverages. Some of the chapter members were describing it a workshop several conventions ago...

Anyway, I know the OP's post was old, so I hope they figured things out.

Why have a mixer with the chapter if they guys weren't interested in mixing with this particular sorority in the first place? It seems that even if it was planned, a lot of them might not show up.

Easy mixer idea: Pick-up line social
Get two bowls (one for guys and one for girls) and write up a bunch of pick up lines on strips of paper. Each pick-up line gets written down twice -- one goes into each bowl.

The girls select one pick-up line from the girls' bowl and the guys do the same. Now, go around the room and recite your pick-up line to members of the opposite sex until you find your match.

It's a great icebreaker and conversation starter. It really doesn't matter if you never find your pick-up line buddy-- the fun is in talking to new people and laughing over the cheesy pick up lines.

The OP literally made me laugh out loud.

How about a "Middle East" themed mixer, where they all wear burqas?

I'm joking, I'm joking!
