CrushLink.Com?
I am at the end of my rope here, people.
Here's the scenario:
I received an email from CrushLink.com stating that someone has a crush on me. I went to the website to find out who this person is only to find out that I have to guess by creating a "CrushList". If one of the email addresses on my "CrushList" matches with the person who has a crush on me, viola...a match is made. Needless to say, I still don't know who this person is. Supposedly, they send hints if you don't guess correctly, but I haven't received any.
Has anyone out there received one of these emails? Is this a joke or something? Is there any other way I can find out who this person is? How long will they keep this going? What if I never guess who the person is? 'Cuz I am DONE guessing. Should I be scared/worried about a possible stalker? I am being totally serious, people.
I just want to be able to tell this person that I am "off the market", so to speak. Although, if they know me then they would already know this, right? UGH!! I don't want this person thinking I am leading them on or anything like that. My goodness, this could be someone I come in contact with on a daily basis! I'm kinda freaking out because I hope it's not one of my students. That is the LAST thing I need.
Does anyone have the foggiest idea what I'm talking about?

ACK, I so now what your talking about,. I got one last week. and I really hate it, cause your right you have to make a list of all the people it could possinle be, but then they send out the same little email you just got to all those people who u have on your list. It will give you hints for each email address u come up with. If you guess it, you have the option to accept or deny. I hope that helps but to get any of the options u have to keep putting in email addresses, and then it doesn't even tell you right away. My goofball friend had sent me one, cause they know stuff like that drives me just insane, lol. Anyway, when I actually put in the right address, it yanks your chain for a bit then eventually tells you the real deal. Phew, that was alot, lol, sorry for so much writng. But thats what that site is, hope that helped.

It's a funny thing you brought this up, Serenity...because I just got one of those emails this morning.
But here's the thing--the crush email was sent to my college campus email address, and I don't normally use this email for outside campus stuff as I only give this address out to my professors who ask for it. i entered a bunch of bs addresses to get my "hints" and so far the person who has a crush on me has 5 letters in his first name and 6 in his last.
But see--in order to get your second hint you have to sign up for stuff...even more junk mail. I think it's just a scam to get you to sign up for offers! Needless to say, I asked to be taken off that list.

Those whole crush link kinda things are self perpetuating. I got one "crush" email to my new email address which I had just started giving out. So I questioned one of my friends and she was so embaressed (yeah I forgot how to spell today), she was just trying to find out who sent it to her, and she ended up emailing all her friends to aplogize, but it just went on and on... I think the best thing to do is to delete it right away, kind of like chain letters....

OMG, I didn't even think about that! I'm going to have to do that at work tomorrow! Great, JUST GREAT! I can not believe this. Is there no end to the humiliation!?! You can not even IMAGINE how embarrassing this is going to be for me. Oh my...
Anyway, thanks, you guys! On the bright side, no one is stalking me. That's always a good thing, right!?!

Usually you have to submit a certain amount of emails before they send you hints. So people who don't even crush you will be sending you emails just to find out there hints. It's a total crock lol.

Exactly, I have gotten a couple of these before too. I think everyone has gotten one from someone, than lists their names than the cycle keeps going. Kind of like a 6 degrees to seperation thing.

This thread is a little old - but the whole catch is to make you log in to their site, enter in your information (so they can mail you constantly) and sign up for their services. Big Jip

I agree completely Sarah. I had a friend put my address in just because he thought that I might be playing a joke on him, and it made it look like he had a crush on me. It was weird, but that site is a big old lame ass hoax and irritating, because even if someone else gives your info, you get spammed by them every other day. Irritating!

I started getting those almost a year ago and I'm STILL getting stuff! It drives me insaaaaaaaaane. I'm pretty sure that a guy who was sort of stalking me last year was the one who put my name on the list, and it said I was right when I guessed who it was, but I am still getting hints and crap. It's awful. Is there any way at all to just make it stop????
