Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

I am just wondering if any GLOs support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, whether as a one-time event or as their committed philanthropy.

One of Delta Phi Epsilon's international philanthropies is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Heather,

That is great news! I have CF, and I always wondered if any GLOs supported them. I guess I could look this up, but are there any chapters in CT? I am working with the CFF on some fundraisers and always need help.

I am also going to enlist my Gamma Sig alums to help out, but as you know, many hands are better that no hands!

I think the only chapter we have in CT is Southern Connecticut State University--but depending on where you are, there may be a chapter in a surrounding state nearby as well.

We have really just started to re-invigorate our relationship with CFF. This summer, we held a program at Convention called Tate's Totes to fill tote bags with games and other things to do while at the hospital that were donated to CF Care Centers and hospitals. The totes were named in honor of Tate, our international president's nephew who was born with CF.

Some chapters raise money for CFF through various events and others participate in local CFF events. It really is chapter choice.

Best of luck with your efforts for CF! And here's wishing you good health!

CF Children's Book - Kyle's First Crush

I just wrote a children's book
Kyle's First Crush. www.kylesfirstcrush.com
All the profit from the sale of this book will be donated to the cystic fibrosis foundation.
Story about a little boy who falls in love with a little girl who has cf.
adorable story, beautiful illustrations.
If there is ever a time where I could show up for a book signing, for a large event, let me know.
I am originally from Boston and visit home often. I will be in Boston for Easter.
If anyone is interested in helping to promote the book, email back, It will look great on a resume one day.
email back thoughts at orrplace1@bellsouth.net

I'm not sure if it is an "officially" sponsored philanthropy or not, but many many Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) chapters have annual fundraisers for CF. Google "Phi Gamma Delta" and "cystic fibrosis" and you'll get quite a few hits - maybe you could team with a chapter to help the CFF. Good Luck!

Yes, my fraternity, Delta Tau Delta, holds an annual CF sports challenge in honor of one of our founding fathers, who has CF. This year we raised over $20,000 for the CF Foundation.

CF

Although not one of Theta Phi's official philanthropies, my collegiate chapter (in MA) always did various activities for CF because one of our sisters had CF. Usually this took the form of an annual donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or activities for Children's Hospital in Boston (where our sister was treated). Depending on where in CT you are, my collegiate chapter might not be too far away. PM me if you'd like more info.
