Hi,
I dont think Phi Sigma Sigma Theta Chapter is closed at UofI. The chapter doesn't participate in Formal Recruitment, but I don't think its closed...I visited in Spring 07.

According to this article, Washington State voted to increase total from 90 to 98 members.

I'm pretty sure that Phi Sigma Sigma isn't at SUNY Stony Brook any more. Their formal recruitment flyers for Spring listed only ASA, SDT, and TPA.

Syracuse University Recruitment
Syracuse recruitment was huge this semester. Total on campus is 90. This year's quota was 48 with 750+ pnm's going through the first round. Phi Sigma Sigma achieved quota.

Per our recruitment thread, DG pledged 48. Are the numbers substantially larger than last year? (I believe quota last year was 45, was it not?) It does seem odd to have total of 90 with such large quotas...

Syracuse Recruitment is very interesting number wise. In 2006 Total was changed from 70 to 90 and during the fall semester this year chapters ranged in size from 50-120. One of my chapter sisters currently at SU told me that they might/or had changed it to 100 for this year.
Quota has been 2005-40 2006-42 2007-45 2008-48. PNM's going through recruitment has increased from 535 in 2005 to 781 in 2008, however, it is not unusual to see 150+ pnms not finish the process because they either dropped or were released by all of the houses.
Syracuse has spring recruitment, and by the time it starts many women know which house they want to be a sister in. They have either met sisters in chapters or have been exposed to the rumor mill.
It is not unusual to have a full class but lose 10 or more new members during the nm process. Many, if not all, of the houses don't initiate the number of women they started out with, leading to smaller chapter sizes.
Any type of COB is also considered to be taboo and many houses would rather initiate a smaller class and be smaller than have everyone know they have participated in COBing.
Hope that answers your question.

I was told that 10 out of the 12 houses made quota. Pi Beta Phi and Alpha Phi did not.
