Butterflies
Creatures of beauty that
taint my eyes in lavender and
Carolina blue.
No longer can I subdue the
urge and need to confess
with speed my admiration
for you.
The standard of all things ladylike.
The personification of what a man
wants at his side when he
lays his head at night.
Set apart from all the rest,
my undivided attention I
must confess can attest
to this poems plight.
You are unique….special…..
bright amongst bleak and
envious things Greek incapable
of matching your aesthetic delight.
And yet in spite of breathtaking
beauty you remain truthful to
the duty of intellectual excellence
with strong presence of mind.
A package so complete I find
the choice to ignore it is blind
and an exercise of self deceit.
So at the risk of having to repeat
this poem in a single phrase I
won’t be phased or shy.
And without further a due
