You know, we're giving them exactly what they want; free publicity. They need form their own male fraternity sans any references to AKA.

DSTChaos, I do not think that the reasons why people want to justify calling them "sorors" or "male sorority members" really makes much sense. As we all know. In the Divine 9, we don't have any coed sororities or fraternities so therefore, there is no such thing as a "male sorority member" in Alpha Kappa Alpha, nor in any other sorority in the Divine 9. Further, how can you be a male sorority *member* if you're not a *member*. Would you refer to the dudes trying to call themselves members of Delta Sigma Theta as your "male sorority members"? Of course not. B/c they are not. So why use the term when it comes to Alpha Kappa Alpha?

They are "male sorority members." Not because they are women or official members, but because they have crossed the line from auxilliary to something else. Take that up with them. LOL.

Um, I may be wrong, but I thought she was agreeing with you. She just wrote it facetiously.

No, I was telling her that everyone knows they aren't sorority members. So when we call them "male sorority members," it's out of jest. So she needs to get over it.

But thanks.

Ladygreek, I don't know if she was agreeing with me or not. My concern is moreso with just communicating my point as opposed to trying to figure out if someone is being facetious. I tend to read emails only for a few minutes and then I go back to whatever I was really doing (b/c usually I'm not just actually sitting at the computer on Greekchat, I peek in for a minute) so if someone is saying something facetiously, I may not even be paying enough attention to those types of nuances to even get all that.
Thanks though,
SC

There are male "Deltas" and male "AKAs." That title makes it all the more hilarious and unofficial.
Everyone have a drink and quit worrying about this nonsense.
