Did anyone else get this??
Just curious. I don't wana call these people and give them my information.
I guess they are making a Phi Mu Fraternity Alumnae Directory. There's a toll free number to call to give them your information.
I think this might be the same company that did one for my high school. I gave the information, they sent a book out and ended up costing $90. They kept hasseling me for the money, until I told them that I never ordered it.Do we even have a Directory Office in Norfolk, VA?

Yes, Phi Mu is making their--not annual, but every-few-years-al--alumnae directory. It is PERFECTLY alright to call the 800 number and update your information; it will not be given or sold to anybody else, but it will help other sisters find you, and you find other sisters. You're given an option to buy the collector's edition for about $90 or a regular one for I think $40-ish, but you do NOT have to purchase one if you don't want to.

Phi Mu Alumnae Directory
Phi Mu has hired the Harris Connect Directory Company to get updates and publish directory of members.
You do not have to purchase a directory. However, you should update your information, so that other members who purchase it could contact you. Also, all updates the company receives will be shared with Phi Mu.
Or you may update your information, but elect not to have it listed in the directory. It is up to you.
If you have trouble with the company, please contact Phi Mu Headquarters and let them know about. It helps if you get the name of the person you talked to with Harris.
They are not supposed to pressure you into buying the book.

Directory
What a coincidence! I just called that number today to update my information. This is a legit company that is truly compiling an alum directory. About the cost of the book...they point blank asked me if I wanted to purchase it. The cost is 2 installments of $44.95. In addition you can purchase a CD-rom for an extra $10.00.

I wish they would stop sending me the e-mail even though I updated my information a long time ago...

YEAH! I updated my info a while ago (I just got initiated this past winter (so NO! it hasn't changed. And I know that by the time it comes out it's going to change, so why they're asking for it now I have no idea.) Honestly, they sent me a card in the mail to tell me to call them and I'm not going to because if someone wants to truly find me they can do it on the website anyways if they know my chapter of initiation and first and last names!

Sorry to crash, but KD also used that company recently when updating their book.
If you don't confirm your information, they will keep calling/emailing/sending cards in the mail. Even if you do confirm the information, they'll try to confirm it AGAIN (hence giving them another opportunity to try to sell you the book). I was REALLY annoyed with this company. I understand the purpose, but it was ridiculous. And ours was ridiculously expensive. My information changed anyway between when they collected the info and when the book was punished.

yes, did!
Hi - I did get the postcard, and I did call in to update the information this morning, how ironic. I also rec'd the same request in 2001 and bought the book then because it was our 150th and I was a Beta Psi's Chapter adviser. For some reason I thought it might be a significant historical item. I can't say I've used it all that much... not to mention, you may get more info from the EO. I'll let you know if they send me the book because I clearly said NO...just this morning! Let me know if you find anything out.

Does anyone know when this book is supposed to come out??? I ordered it like months ago and it still hasn't come...when one of my sisters called to ask when it would be here-they replied, "Sometime in January"-well, my birthday is this Friday and I was hoping to have it by now....Does anyone have a clue???
