I understand why the school has policies against kids making out at school and on the bus. I think expulsion is extreme.

B]More Questions re the mom who went on her "African adventure":[/B]
1. Don't passports take a LONG time these days to get? (If so, then she was planning this hot mess all along!)
2. If she could afford a trip to Africa, why couldn't she afford to buy a bus ticket for her sister AND made sure the sister got to Houston to take care of everyone?
3. My sister lives in Houston and told me that the lady lives in a very nice house in a very nice neighborhood. How is she affording that with NO job?
4. Where is the man she went to marry? Why couldn't he come to the US to marry her?
5. She was gone for an entire month!! Once again, if she could afford to go to Africa, why couldn't she have made sure that there was enough food and that the utilities were paid up?
It makes me SICK that this lady who has no job, on welfare (my sister also told me that she left a food stamp card for the kids but it had a ZERO balance!), living in an expensive house (albeit nasty), and 8 kids (2 older ones are currently in jail) and can afford to go to Africa (with a layover in Paris no less!) when Hubby and I have jobs and 1.75 kids and we can't afford to even THINK about going to Orlando (2 hours from Jax) much less anywhere overseas!! She even had Internet access in her house to go online to meet the guy!! Once again, where was the money to pay for all of that if she had no job!! It just makes me sick!

While I completely and totally second the motion (and can think of another thing I want to cut off ), how is it possible he is being charged with molesting and IMPREGNATING a child? What he did was vile, but whether or not she got pregnant was (scientifically) random. So, if she hadn't gotten pregnant, there'd only be one charge? That doesn't make sense.

yup, it looks like in that particular state they have a law that covers "statutory rape/molestation" and another that covers "impregnating a child." So yes, if she didn't become pregnant, the latter charge couldn't be applied.
Being a 10/11 year old and getting molested is horrible enough but getting pregnant on top of that is even worse. And so the prosecution is charging him for the end result and I don't blame them. He put her in the position to get pregnant.

^^^
So yet again, we have another story of a mom who gave her love life priority over her child's safety and well-being. The link didn't work, but I went to the site and read some related articles. The mom was ordered by the local social service office to not have this man or any other males in her house and she did anyway.
When I moved to FL, I worked in protective services. It burned me up to see women discount/dismiss their children's needs to attend to the needs of the boyfriend. I've had numerous cases where I told mothers that the boyfriend had to go or else the children would be removed. 9 times out of 10, I had to find foster homes because mom was so much in "love'. It's sad and appalling. Now a child's life is devastated because mom was looking out for herself.

*Is not a lawyer*
this is how I read it
Impregnating results in a child, and therefore verifiable evidence that an attack took place.
