Ole Miss: Drug Raids (Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Other)

Article from a Mississippi news source:

http://www.djournal.com/pages/story....pub=1&div=News

It's useful to note that the separate raids didn't single out a greek house. In fact it looks like far more people were arrested at the second location than at the fraternity house. Probably fair to say (again) that drugs are a problem that isn't limited to greeks. Of course, for greeks the risk management / national policy issues can be significant.

I counted 6 females of the reported 21 people arrested. Nowhere in the article does it mention that the girls were in sororities.

Agreed--how is "just about every name mentioned" a girl?

I know a large number of girls and guys at Ole Miss......including a lot of SAEs........who all said they were in sororities. I also know tons of people from UGA, here, TCU, SMU, etc. etc. that all went to the Ole Miss UGA game who will vouch for that as well.

I didn't read the last paragraph with all of those names.......at first glance it looked like just a bunch of girls names were listed......so sue me. I'm sorry. I counted 7 girls. Oh well.

While attempting to locate a second source for this, I came across something else. The DEA has a major task force down there. While only locals LE's in story, wonder what is next.

Good call on the cocaine. Another amazing part of the southern fraternity experience. Drugs aren't looked well upon unless it's that white lady (and in some cases pot, but that's rare).

From what I've heard they were just staying at the SAE house this past weekend. I also heard that most of these kids were not Ole Miss students, they were students from other SEC schools. However, that does not mean we do not have students who do drugs at Ole Miss. Apparently the cops had some sort of tips if they knew to go to the SAE House. I mean, it's not like the cops hang out there looking for something. The University just got another drug dog and they have been cracking down in the dorms big time too.

ETA: There were a few Ole Miss students arrested too I just found out.

wow, I sure feel safer knowing that some college kids who were partying are in jail now. I don't have to worry about the Taliban's resurgance at all, now.
