We have to learn all of our founders names to be initiated, so one of out new members put together this really funny story about all of the founders as a way to remember the names. It's really funny and makes it a lot easier to learn. Some ppl have 3 or 4 founders but we have 11 so it can get hard to remember. A cool thing to do too that we are trying to put together on campus is have a little ice cream social or something like that with another GLO on campus, or even a few others. That way the new members meet more people and know people going into it!

I understand what you mean, we have 10 founders... I made up a sentance using the first letters of the last names, and then ways to remember each founder... (Jeanette Lipka Furst... Jeanette kisses Lipka Furst! hehe...

Heres my sentance, cos I want to share:
A Bunch of Cheery Cherries (thats an inside joke from camp a looong time ago!) Found Kegs, Legs, Mice and Swim Suits...

Another idea is that if you have any sayings, creeds, etc.,(anything fairly long that has to be memorized or you want the girls to remember), print them out. Then print something else on the other side (your mascot, a group picture, etc. Cut the saying apart and as a game, have them try to piece it together again in the order. To let them know if they are right, the picture on the back would be right!

Of course, being a phi sig, you may already heard of using Jeopardy! It may sound lame, but little incentives for correct answers help a lot to encourage learning.

The sapphire is this Sorority's stone.

What is Phi Sigma Sigma?

just an example

Oh my favorite Jepordy questions I made this year....

Category: RHYME TIME (our fav!!)
This word important to all Phi Sigs... Rhymes with STINKS....

SPHINX!

Or:

This national officer's name rhymes with HAIRY THIGHS (I try to make them 'catchy' this is one that the sisters get!)

Carrie Wise... National Housing Chair I think? its late!!!

All chapter jepordy is fun!

We started "Who Wants to be a D Phi E", and it's REALLY fun It also helps people bond, as they use their pledge sisters as the audience and their phone a friend. We usually get a cute prize for the person who gets all the way to a million.

We have 6 main founders and we memorized them with colored cards. We took the test with 50 girls in the same room so it may have been easy to get help with questions also.
