My chapter had a heritage badge (diamond in the tip) which brides wore (usually on their slip, or whatever they wore under their dress) for the wedding. It was special because you knew that many of your Pi Phi sisters had also worn that badge on their wedding days. For a long time, we had an album in the archives where many of the brides would send a picture from the reception of all the Pi Phis in attendance. I don't know if either of those traditions were continued (it's been a long time since I've been to a Pi Phi wedding)

We also serenaded the bride and groom at the reception, singing the more sentimental songs (if you don't know "My Pi Phi girl", your chapters should learn it... as your LDC to help when she visits.. it's perfect for serenading) and then ending with a cheer. My older sister married an SAE, and after we sang to them, his fraternity brothers sang to them as well... or tried to- vocalists, they were not!!

The Pi Phis at my wedding sang, "The Legacy Song" in the bathroom because they were too embarrassed to sing in front of a bunch of strangers! And we didn't know that one of my (independent) bridesmaids was in one of the stalls and when they finished, she poked her face out and said, openmouthed, "What was THAT?"

I would have had wine carnations incorporated into the bouquets but it was a Christmas wedding so they were red and peppermint.

All your Pi Phi Sisters could sing "Pi Phi Sweetheart" to you. In case you don't know, the words are:

If her heart is true,
If her colors are wine and blue,
If her eyes seem to shine like the arrow she wears,
Waiting for someone like you...
Then your dreams can start,
With the magic that dreams impart,
and at last you'll be certain and sure that she's your Pi Beta Phi Girl,
Your Pi Phi Sweatheart!!

Congrats on the wedding and good luck!
