I wasn't a Panhel officer, but I was my sorority's Panhel rep one year. I was a rho chi that same year. (Since we had fall rush, PXs disaffiliated only for the summer, so I was easily able to do both.) I absolutely LOVED meeting and working with women from the other sororities on my campus.
We had 5 sororities and 5 top exec positions (president, VP recruitment, VP exec, secretary, and treasurer), so each sorority held one exec position each year. There were other offices like social, housing, etc. that were generally open to any sorority member elected by Panhel (i.e. by the reps - one vote per sorority).
I never got involved on the alumna level, though - no time...
