Hey guys! I haven't posted on here in a while, but I have been lurking, reading posts and looking for advice on some of the issues our new local sorority has been facing. Phi Rho Alpha started last July, if any of you remember from the desperate advice thread I posted then, lol. We had four members back then, initiated on July 31, 2005. After two successful rush periods, we have grown to 26 members with a number of girls asking us about information for rushing in next fall!
I still can't believe how fast we've grown since last year. We've got an "unofficial" house next year where 8 of our girls are living, participated in Relay For Life at our University (University of Michigan), Goodness Day 2006, have held mixers with fraternities including Lamba Chi Alpha, Chi Psi and Triangle, and have FOOTBALL SATURDAY partners for next fall (Zeta Psi, and for anyone at U of M, football saturdays are huge!).
I figured now that it is summer once again, I should update y'all on our progress, and ask for yes, more advice!
We have a few issues coming up:
1) Any ideas on how to keep up our strong rush periods in the fall and winter?
2) We are hoping to get a house senior year. Any advice on getting a chapter house (specifically in Ann Arbor, if possible)?
3) Any ideas for summer activities to keep sisters in the area involved?
Thanks to everyone who helped me/us last summer with advice when we were just getting started!!
