Some rush ideas that worked well for my chapter in the past:
Anything with sports: Whether it be flag football, basketball or softball, sports are a good opportunity to talk with guys as well as to see how potential rushees are in social situations. It's a fun event that will draw people. Make sure that things are kept loose though; the last thing you want is a rush-related injury. Going to a sporting event works well too, just make sure guys are talking to each other and not just watching the game.
Comedy clubs: Fun and not too expensive, you can sometimes work out a deal for food as well, which will only add to the appeal.
Events with sororities: Good on a couple of levels. First, they'll draw potential rushees to the event, and secondly, it's a good way to introduce rushees to the Greek system as a whole. It can help foster better relations with sororities as well. Again, an important consideration is that guys don't spend all their time talking to the girls.
The main thing is to try to be as original and inventive as you can, within the guidelines of rush. You want the events to be fun, but you also want to meet the rushees and let them know what your chapter (and Kappa Sigma) is all about.
