Perhaps we ought to re-define fraternity...it was hardly comparable to what we called a fraternity. You can call these wannabes anything you want to, you can pretend you are really doing something. You can
even install a urinal in the Pi Phi house. You are a sniveling lot of
folks, but within this hoi-polloi lies some good ones, too. I prefer
to communicate to them, and the rest of you...well, potrzebie

Hey, Erik, although you do say some EFF UP chit, I do understand where you are coming from...
And that is why some NPHC folks have issues with the Pikes colonizing Howard...
And like you said, fraternity is also about a house...
Well, have you see the housing at Howard? It's pretty jacked up. Short of most houses being cracked out and condemned...
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the Pikes nationally have a ton of money and oh, the hayle yeah, can get around the redistricting and zoning laws faster than a speeding demilitarized bullet in DC--just look at the Pike alumni...
Sooner than you think, Howard's gonna have some nice new buildings for their members Pi Kappa Alpha...
So where does that put the kids who are members of NPHC's? NPHC "housing" will never be anywhere near the level and force of Pi Kappa Alpha... Spell that with ca$h... Really...
10 years ago at San Diego State University, it was a million dollar buy in, and $200K down to get greek row build... The local alumni NPHC chapters never had that kind of money... So their organizations didn't build because getting that kind of cash is difficult for a Black man in this world... Too many questions get asked by stockers at Walmart.
And with Howard U. area being so gentrified, prices may be just about that much... So essentially we are saying that it pays to be a member...
Forgetting the fact that many of these kids come from jacked up backgrounds with grillz and spinner (slang speak for the gold teeth and shiny car rims).
So you bet this is all about money from Howard's standpoint... It all comes down to the money...
And folks can be easily bought off at HBCU's... That's the way the game is played. And that's why their alumni fail to support these schools...
Hayle, I like Howard and folks that graduated from there... But truth be told, y'all know why your school was founded...
And no Rainman,
It is MORE THAN ELITISM at Howard... It is just plain "haterism"...
Either way, both sides need some sort of reconciliatory effort placed so there's no disillusionment.
But I guess I just don't believe it anymore... I am starting the think that folks never change...
