Talking Convention 2006 - PHILADELPHIA!!

Who's joining me next year?!?

Delta Phi Epsilon’s Biennial Convention will be held next summer in Philadelphia, PA, July 5, 2006 – July 9, 2006. Our theme, “It’s about Being Something,” will illustrate who we are as DPhiE women, individuals, chapter members, and members within the Greek and campus community. Educational sessions will also focus on fine-tuning chapter operations to give each chapter a better understanding of the key operational components of a Delta Phi Epsilon chapter, such as Standards Board, elections, officer transition, and finances. There will be sessions held to help each member to further develop herself as a leader, so that they can help their chapter set the standard on their campus. Additionally, delegates will participate in ritual, Open Space Technology, and Grand Chapter meetings, including the election of our new International Governing Board. There will also be time for chapter and member recognition at Convention, as well as social time throughout the week.

Alumnae members are also strongly encouraged to attend Convention to celebrate Delta Phi Epsilon’s history and connect with sisters. Alumnae educational sessions will also be held on Saturday, July 8, 2006, in addition to a Philadelphia Alumnae Reception being held Saturday evening.

Registration information and materials can be found on the international website www.dphie.org. If you have any questions concerning Convention registration or events, please contact Shannon Ullom, Organizational Development Director, at 314.275.2626, x26.

We hope to see you in Philadelphia!

It is expensive. I asked how much it would be without the hotel (as I would not need one) and it was still expensive.

FYI Regarding Costs

There are several options to cover convention costs. Here's an FYI:

On Saturday, July 8, 2006, alumnae members can attend workshops focusing on motivation, balancing work and family, and other professional and personal development topics. Local alumnae are also invited to attend the Philadelphia Alumnae Reception on Saturday from 5:00 - 6:30 pm and participate in ritual following the reception. Alumnae workshops and the reception are free to DPhiE alumnae; however, you must RSVP by June 15, 2006 by contacting Kathy Deppe at kdeppe@dphie.org or 314.275.2626.

Cost for attending Convention is $695, which includes registration materials, hotel room (to be shared with another collegian/alumna), and scheduled meals. Daily registration rates are also available ranging from $70 to $155 per day. For more information on Convention and to download registration forms, please visit the website (www.dphie.org).

The theme is "Its About Being Something."
